I find these kinds of tours to be much more useful and inspiring the tours of the large studios with racks upon racks of gear. It's quite helpful to see spaces that people have optimized for their particular creative workflows.

So refreshing to see someone bucking fashion and the headlong rush into ITB. Also nice to see that I'm not the only one still recording through an analogue mixer onto an 8 track reel to reel. It's not just the sound - it's the whole approach and workflow which is so different.

Subscribed to your channel almost two weeks ago, and have watched a lot of these studio tours. This guy is probably the most inspiring out all the videos I've seen - literally just focused on recording a good song with the gear that he has. It's really inspiring to see someone make something work with limitations (in this case, SM57s on drums and an 8-track tape recorder with no editing in Pro Tools).

I agree with you, limitations make us do more interesting things or at least in very different ways, limitations push us against the ropes. We have bought a vintage 16 channels console to work in a more fluid way, the computer is just a recorder with the benefits of the fine editing, but the sound is coming from the console...the sound and results are dramatically better in my opinion, it doesn't sound like plastic...and it is not placebo. Keep your good work with this series, I'm enjoying it a lot ;)
