Leaving etsy was the best decision I made for my business and my bank account. Setting up a website (I use squarespace!) was a big learning curve but SO WORTH IT ❤️

That really sucks about the whole Etsy thing! I used to want an Etsy so bad. I have been contemplating whether or not I should open one. Because I use Big Cartel I feel like my audience has to already know I have a website or people have to stumble upon it. I used to think Etsy was a good way for people who don’t follow me to find my work. But I’ve heard so many horror stories I don’t think it’s worth it at this point. I’m with you on the ETSY shenanigans - the BS ways of telling sellers they are charging more to “give sellers the best” what a lie. They have gotten very greedy. I’m right behind you on opening another independent platform. 💕🐾💕

omg. the whole label thing happened me to too. I printed a label from Etsy Labels and 2 minutes later got charged a label overage BUT I DIDNT EVEN BRING IT TO THE POST OFFICE YET! this is why i do not use etsy labels anymore 😂 Also the star seller program is a bunch of BS i have glowing reviews but no star seller because i chose to do pick ups in my city and not pay $15 to ship to a house thats a 5 minute drive from me. Congrats on moving away from etsy i wish i will be able to do that too one day 😂 also the 1.5% increase in fees? I’m expecting some top notch service from etsy starting april 11

I’m working on transitioning away from Etsy too. It’s getting worse and worse! I completely stopped shipping internationally - I feel bad for those who want my stuff, but it’s one less nightmare to stress about :’)

That horrifying that Etsy is telling customers to file complaints against their shop owners! Etsy just put a freeze on my income for 3months and couldn't tell me why even after 4 emails from me asking for exact reasons. They just said once its on it can't come off until the 3 months are up. So every time i sold something i had to wait 90days for it to be sent to my account. Currently trying to decide if Shopify or squarespace is better...

What Etsy did was awful ugh! But as an Italian, all of my packages even with VAT numbers on them get held at customs, sometimes for weeks or a couple of months. Idk why tho, kinda sucks (hope it doesn’t happen for my order :’) )

Regarding the print, I usually use photo paper and it prints the colors exactly like it looks in procreate I use the staples photo premium matte and the canon ts705 printer plus I use very bright colors too so maybe it helps!

First of all, nobody likes Etsy. They literally do everything to make sure you close down your shop in tears. Secondly, and I’m not throwing shade just stating facts, don’t ever send anything to Italy. They have the worst postal service in the world and lots of sellers refuse to ship there so they are used to it. Also the print is cute, nothing wrong with it. 💕
