This was a really big surprise for us 😍❤ 2 nights at the Hilton Aruba 💫💖 Sepp and I were completely speechless 😁 We really enjoyed the pool, we loved the beautiful garden 🌺🦜🌿 the cosiness in the resort, but most of all we enjoyed it to be with you 💞 The vlog has become super super nice, & especially the old images of your family really beautiful to see 🥰 Thank you for making this great vlog and for taking us to this wonderful hotel!💕 Really enjoyed it all lief!😘

What is not told in the video is that this was a surprise 2 night stay for Marleen and Sepp 😬 I really enjoyed their faces, especially when around the pool, it was so nice to cool off there. We also had a lot of fun playing the games in the garden. One of the big reasons I wanted to vlog here was to be able to showcase these old clips that were made by my father on super 8 film (or something like that) in 1959 or 1960. I base that on how old my sister looked. Happy to have taken you there lief, let’s hope not the last time☺️☀️🏝😎

Morning Hyro. Good to see Marleen is back. Hope all is well. I've never stayed at the Hilton but I've walked though the shops and lobby. It would of been cool seeing palm beach back in 50s when it was empty of resorts. Great video brother.

Hey brother☀️ Happy Sunday to you! Yes, everything good and I hope on your side too! I know large resorts arent’t for everybody but I must admit We genuinely enjoyed staying here. I would have loved to be able to go back in time and see how things were on my island, it’s something I day dream about all the time😊☀️🏝

I stayed at the Aruba Caribbean 5 times from 1961 until 1966 (skipping 1962 because we were there in December 1961) with my parents and have nothing but fond memories of the place. The Aruba tower was the only one back then and except for 1966 it was the only hotel on Palm Beach. I remember they had these pink Jeeps you could rent for island tours which was cool as I had the Tonka version. We made friends with some people who lived on the island on the first trip and so each time after that we’d visit them. There was also a lovely local woman named Julia that would watch my brother and I and occasionally take us to her house to play with her kids. It was such an idillic time and I hope one day to return!

@@LetsgowithHyro I think the biggest difference between then and now is that a family could afford to stay there without being millionaires as the minimum daily change now is around $500 a night, way higher than it was back then even adjusting for inflation.
