I actually met and spoke with Ronnie Kray in the most strangest of circumstances. I was a telephone engineer for BT in Berkshire and part of a team that worked in Broadmoor in the early 90s. We were renewing cabling in the roof space on the wing where he was housed. On one occasion we came down into the corridor with our escort as he was being escorted back to his cell room. We were briefed how to react if a patient spoke to us which indeed he did. My workmate and I sort of froze for a moment when he said "I like you 2 boys. Have you come to fit a telephone in my room?" I said "No, not today Mr Kray" and he replied, "Oh that's a shame, I've only been waiting 20 years for one." Incredible!

Tom Hardy, almost a decade ago he took his last hit of crack and now is a savage on any screen. Truly a... LEGEND

Even though they're talking to the literal Mafia in the flesh, Reggie and Ronnie are just dominating the room.

@Tomhardy-xd4sn layer cake, rock n Rolla, dark knight rises made me know he's a dude who can act and after that any role I just know what to expect and watch if he's in it. What's yours? Peaky blinders he gives a james Gandolfini type performance in too

The balls it takes for a gangster to just flat out tell an American monster he’s gay is unreal. I hope that once in my life I have the courage to do anything like this.

I think you're brave just to admit it on youtube. Being gay can't be easy. Bravo Shawno!

Especially considering the movie takes place in the 60s when the world was a lot less accepting of gays

It's not courage that Ronnie Kray shows here. He's just speaking his truth about who he is and what he wants. That is honesty. No fucks given about how it will go over with the Italian gangster either.
@letsdiscussitoversometea84792 жыл бұрын
@@joenobody5913 is Shawn ACTUALLY saying that he's gay here though?? That's not what it looks like to me. To me, it looks like he's saying that he hopes to have the confidence to be ASSERTIVE about {whatever it is he wants to be confident about saying} - two potentially different things altogether. That's how rumours can start.

Just shows you how crazy he is. No way one could’ve made a statement about preferring boys to an old school wise guy like that. You can see the last look Palminteri gave him was one of disgust but also knowing he was batshit crazy

There's a good reason the movie is called 'Legend'. In reality, the Krays were given a small, regular payoff by the Mob. They were turned away at the door from their clubs, because they were seen as bad for business, and a bit of an embarrassment.
