A few cues are up at www.eocues.com .
Today we're building a pool cue. I'm still very much a beginner with cuemaking but I am proud of this one!
I recommend Daisy for carbon fiber shaft tubes: www.carbonfibe...

What I found TRULY amazing...is the design and craft of the machinery, attachments and accessories, that allow, to turn simple wood in works of art. THAT is awesome for me.

This cue turned out great. I want to get into making cues, as a hobby and a side job. My father used to always tell me that I could and that I should. Playing pool was one of the things we bonded over very much. I hope to get a lathe one day so that I can being to practice this art. Until then, I will study what I need to learn, and hopefully one day I can begin.

If this is what a “beginner” cue looks like, I can’t imagine what a professional cue looks like! 😮 I’m getting into making walking sticks/canes and will use some of the techniques you use for the cues, but mine won’t be as intricate, and don’t need to be as straight. But I got a lot of great ideas here, in terms of design, techniques, and finishing. Great work! 😊

The size of the ferrule on that cue must be made for 3-cushion. The pool cue ferrule is twice the size. But you did an awesome job placing it together. That could fetch at least $500 to $900 because of the ivory. BE SURE TO PATENT IT SO NO ONE CAN STEAL YOUR DESIGN. YOU HAVE BUSTED YOUR CHOPS MAKING THAT MASTERPIECE.

Just One set of hands. From choosing the stock, all the way to waxing the finish. One at a time. A lot of custom cues are done with a few different workers, even production style building the same model. Personally I like it when the name on the cue Is the person who labored on it, showing their skills of being a perfectionist. I'd love to one day hit with one of your cues.

Fantastic video gorgeous cue and you are not what I would call a beginner. That cue is well worth triple digits and probably more (USD). I recently had a cue built for me at $750.00 and that is every bit as nice as the one I have. One thing that I'm not a fan of is using the computer to do routed inlays that have sharp points. It just seems real obvious to me that they were CAD routed when the tips are rounded. It takes away from the obvious craftsmanship when people think you just pushed a button on a computer to add all that detail, but that's just personal preference. I would like to see the CAD inlays done to add a water wave pattern or some other cool design where the router bit limit isn't so obvious. Man though, very nice cue and I think you have the process nailed only thing you'll likely improve on is speed with practice. Great great stuff!
