Hi ! :) thank you so much for your insightful video! this is one of the best videos i found so far about study programmes in france. i have a few questions : 1. after you finish your studies you are allowed to stay for min 12 months(depending on your nationality ) to seek employment in france right? are we allowed to work full time in those months as well? 2. when you emailed university administration and asked them if you are the kind of profile they accept, what respond did you get? thank you in advance ! :)

Hi Rosie! My name is Anna and I'm an Australian/german dual citizen that has recently stumbled across your channel as I am extremely motivated to get a job in Fashion (specifically LVMH) in France. I'm currently in my last year of my fashion/business masters in Australia and have been lucky enough to have a few internships in germany/australia but am trying to gather some more info on taking the next step and moving to france after doing my studies. I have found your videos to be incredibly relatable and informative and would love to hear more about your career journey after you finished your Masters (maybe a video idea?) as well as some tips on how to land a job! My biggest concerns are not having studied at an ecole/french uni and how to make myself stand out as I'm sure a lot of people would be apply for big name brands. Keep up the great work!

Your videos are great and very informative. I already have a BA and an A.A.S and I am thinking of doing my masters in France/Paris. My goal is to stay in Paris long term if I can. My step family lives there. I can not do the CIFFOP as I am over 29 I visited the site and you have to be under 29 for the programs. Ah yes I checked out Campus France. I too am thinking of going to school for HR. I worked in customer service (5 years at Sur la Table) in the past, but my degrees are in graphics and the last few years I have been working in publishing (magazines) but I want to transition out of graphics and of course magazines which are OVER in the United States. I looked at the same program that you attended and there was also a fashion project management program. But with this program I am concerned that it a vanity degree and when I graduate it will be too hard to find a job. Even though it is not creative it is fashion so will be competitive. I also thought of getting a Masters in teaching. I had a friend who was living in Paris and working at a Montessori her job was to speak English to pre-schoolers all day. I thought I could do that LOL 😂. Any way I know you're not an economics expert but in your opinion of these three choices what do you think is the best for finding work in France? In particular if I would be starting out having jobs were speaking English is in demand. I am looking for what would be in demand and easy to get, not super competitive creative jobs. Been there done that and over it. I too am a KZbinr and blogger though with a focus in Fashion. I attend FW in New York and Paris. People would always ask me if it was b/c of my job ( I worked for a luxury publisher of magazines) but nope I worked in the art depart not the fashion department. It is from my blog and YT channel. But at any rate I get all the creative outlet I need from my blog and YT channel and do not need to get this through work. Thank you for any advice you can give and love your channel!! I have been subscribed for a while now 🤗 😘

Hi, how are you? I live in Paris and doing the research to find a Masters Programme with an apprenticeship. I called Ciffop and spoke with Sarah and she said the laws have changed now. If you are not an EU citizen you cannot get an apprenticeship, however yes you can apply to a company for an internship, but that is not going to give you a monthly salary and the other perks. So is it current that after you have finished your Masters in France you can apply for a job without the company sponsoring you ? I really appreciate your content and information.

This was really informative! Do you know any public unis that offer bachelor's degrees in English?
@elisagyn3646
@elisagyn3646 3 жыл бұрын
There aren't many at public unis except in English literature / language with tiny bit theoretical economics & business studies sometimes but knowing it's made for French students to learn English, you might feel bored learning about political systems of Anglophone countries & such tho 🙂 In private business schools, there's a ton more choice although I'm not sure at Bachelors level. Besides, some of these schools offer BBAs that can land you a job without Masters straight after compared to universities that don't. They usually have a higher employment rate due to partnerships with companies to help you find an apprenticeship & internships while having a bigger & more active alumni page than unis. Now, it's better for you to look at top 20 schools in rankings although the top 10 are very pricey (Grandes écoles de commerce+classement on Google) & really research the "atmosphere" of the school asking students online bc some of them are scams with shitty infrastructures or very poor quality of content if they are not reputable/prestigious. Those are filled with rich white spoiled kids who couldn't get in better schools bc of their low results so that their parents can afford paying to get a degree instead ! They are only interested in partying everyday, perform dangerous hazing rituals & are full of predators looking to hook up with as many students as they can while shaming female students who would do the same...

@@lorynniba7659 It's better to research a lot by asking former students of the private schools (whether it be in business-related fields, computer science, engineering, media, political science like Science po etc.) you're interested in about the programs & the vibe on campus so you get a better idea than just the brochure. Most students in those schools speak a decent level of English so it should be easier than with public uni students. I'm doing this atm and it's very time-consuming lol

The French are bigots about age as well as everything else. You might have difficulty getting admitted to a program with competitive admissions, it's a matter of having the luck to get your letter read by someone who will appreciate what you have to offer as a nontraditional student. You can not get a study grant from the government. But you are certainly not barred and I think you should pursue your dream.

Hey! If anyone has found a Public Bachelor's in Journalism or Communications, please help me! I'd like to know about it...On campus France & Beyond the States, there are very little Bach's programs taught in english. I've been learning a lot more French in preparation to settle for a French taught program so I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed and lost. Merci!

also, bless you for this video! nearing the end of my year in Paris and I KNOW for sure now that I want to move here soon after I graduate undergrad in the US June 2021. Im not super keen on studying more (burnout) but overall I know that, esp to live long term in Europe, a master's and a European one at that are INDISPENSABLE. Plus the price/time difference and the guarantee for work in some cases... I'm sold lol.... only thing that will turn me is if I get some wild dream job in the states but, meh.

Depends on the programs ! Some selective business schools recruit with GMAT and all in winter starting from december-ish. Some public unis take in students till June or September (not sure about international students if second session is an option tho)

Awesome, very informative video. Two quick questions: You mentioned that the apprenticeships have a cutoff at age 30. Is this the case for internships, as well? My partner is 30 and thinking of enrolling in a Master's program within the next couple years with the objective of staying in the country long-term. I am also interested in moving to France but am older (37), so I'm wondering what you would suggest for someone in my shoes. For a bit of context, I have an MA in Spanish from a university in the US and an education background, and my partner has has an MFA in Visual Art but would be working on a second degree related to arts administration. Thanks!

Salut Rosie, It's a goal of mine to live in Paris and would like to know, for someone who doesn't have a EU passport, would you recommend doing a Bachelor's in their current country and then only doing a Master's in Paris (not a big fan of the schools I have available to me here, but they are considered pretty good schools), or should I aim to do all five years abroad (ideally I'd want to move to france asap, but financings five years abroad would be a lot harder)
@ameliemelo92

For an employment perspective it is better to do ur master in France if you want to live and work there. I dont recommend doing your bachelor there because: - bachelor in private school are expensive and do not have the greatest reputation - bachelor at univeristy is cheap but you dont have many option in english, plus the quality is really poor - in both case, if you want to join a master in a grande ecole (private) you will not longer have the option to enter via international admission (which is the easier way to get in), the french way is a contest which is extremely hard to pass for an international student who does not speak french as its first language.

@@ameliemelo92 yes bachelor at university is cheap but level is not really poor in most of the university ! My daughter studied her third year at Birmingham University, not Oxbridge but a quiet good one. She was very disappointed by the level below her french university courses ! And it was more schocking for her when you know the year fees in UK ! But it was great to be able to see her father's family.

@@brigittelacour5055 I am French and I studied in both France and in the UK. In French universities you can find amazing teachers but the university framework is really bad (the organisation, administration, the buildings sometimes even the teachers) are really bad. So yeah by working hard and in bad conditions you can achieve a really great level but I would not recommend it.

Those are kind of like TAFEs in Australia... You have to do a CAP coiffure which is a very hands-on 1 year long degree in a special high school. However, it's a very unqualified course and very unlikely they ever teach in English
