Beowulf was a real person.The characters in the story are all real too.Grendal was a type of dinosaur,not a name like Fido the dog.A Babylonian statue shows a soldier fighting a similar Grendal kind of a small dinosaur the very same way Beowulf fought one.He died around 586ad.
