Physics is hard and many colleges have very few if any physics majors. Small colleges have closed physics departments and/or physics as a major, by merging the faculty with other departments, because enrollments are shrinking. So young people should know that if they want to study physics they are taking the hard road in college.

To my own knowledge, many bachelor programs in physics are the same ones as in astronomy. The big difference really comes in your specialisation and further studies
