An excellent tutorial on how to approach this music and, in general, on what to expect and focus on in Bach's music as a whole. All the elements are here- the power of intervals and how they help us identify the keys and the understanding of keys relationships and the mood changes associated with them, dance patterns, the use of the bow to bring clarity to the direction of the phrases and dynamics, harmonic surprises that create suspense, and how to connect one phrase to another to create an organic whole both in terms of musical logic and emotional scope and the appropriate use of ornamentation delightfully demonstrated. Roy has done a tremendous service to violinists, and in fact all musicians and lovers of music, by sharing his knowledge and expertise so clearly and with such obvious joy and love for and sincere commitment to this music.
