Remember: study smart > study long
@juliajablonka54173 жыл бұрын
I understand that, but how do i study smarter and not longer?
@friedfishh3 жыл бұрын
@@juliajablonka5417 -active recall - practice retrieving the information and knowing how to choose from the info you know to answer questions. -Understanding things helps you remember it (and is easier than just blindly memorising a line from the textbook). -Concentrate on what you don't know/what you find hard - prioritise these. -Figure out what you actually need to know and ignore all the unnecessary info you don't need for the exam. (look out for exam specs, checklists, etc.) I'd also say taking breaks helps. It's more effective to meet the information more times than it is to meet it on one occasion (so like 30 mins of work with 15 min is better than just 3 hours of flat out studying cos for the first option you meet the material more times and also it's more sustainable yk). Ig all in all studying smarter means tailoring it to your needs and mimicking exam conditions by the fact you're practising active recall instead of just copying from a textbook or copying out notes, etc. Studying smart naturally means it'll be quicker to cover topics anyways tbh. I hope that helps. :)

My school uses Pearson textbooks and the website. We learn the topic and then the teacher sets tasks for us. They are actually really helpful because it takes everything from the textbook and makes it into questions. Even the textbooks have questions in them and if you're stuck on a question while doing it on the website, it gives you hints. I have a tip for people who want to read faster. I've been a reader just like her so I read pretty fast but smth that has helped me a lot is reading without my voice( if that makes sense), which basically means reading things only by looking at the words not saying them out loud(this is more for people who don't have that voice in their head but if you do try to pass the sentences by only looking at the first 2 and last 2 words to get an understanding of the sentence) it will take time so you have to practice with books or papers or whatever you can find online and it will help a lot. My friend(who has that voice in her head) used to be a slow reader and the moment she started reading by only looking at the words briefly she was able to read 300 pages for 2-3 hours. The moment you see you can read fast, start paying more attention to what the actual thing means... It might look time consuming but if you read 100 pages a day fast your brain gets the message that you need to hurry and it starts pulling info faster. Idk how to explain it better since English is not my first language but I hope this helps... PS: I can read a book with 400+ pages in 3-4 hours, which depends on how much I like the book and how I am feeling that day. ❤️❤️

I had a teacher in high school who said she never studied hours on end and got straight A's. She said her technique was to review the information for each subject about 30 minutes each night and by Friday she had remembered all she needed for the test. This doesn't work for everyone especially if you have a hard time remembering anything. I tried it for a while and it did help me retain information but I needed to study more than a few minutes each night. As for homework, I done most of that during studyhall or got started while in class before we left. What little I had left I done at home and was ready the next day to turn in without scrambling before the class starts. Whatever technique you use, stick with it and don't be afraid to try something different. 😊👍✨

For my school, we're alternating. So I go to school (ftf) only 2-3 times a week. So you're videos are really helping me stay busy and productive when I'm not slaving away at school. :)) but I can have study dates with my friends so that's a big plus

As a student in Aus who just finished Year 7, this helped a lot! I got straight A's in my previous semester and for my first semester in year eight, I'm hoping to maintain my grades to eventually apply to Yale, so I'll definitely use this as a guide! :)

I’m not sure if anyone else mentioned it in the comments but i’m still just making sure: Hey Jasmine!! Oh gosh I follow you since you were 14, only knew your voice and I was about the same age or the same age, and woww i’ve seen you grow and never stopped watching your videos! You are so passionate and honest, even when you took a break from journals it was completely fine!! You look so pretty, and I’m glad to see how you’ve been taking time for yourself and feeling comfortable with your followers💜 I feel like i’m a long distanced friend from all these years😂 but anyways I just wanted to let you know I really admire you and rly keep doing what makes you happy!!🤍 Huge fan:)

I've been in university so long (I'm part-time history student) I don't even know how to describe my methods on getting As anymore. You have to cater different study methods for separate classes, but now it's like... Read a chapter of history once and remember it forever because it's like a puzzle piece that falls into place with all the other pieces? A lot of information overlaps at this point.
