Stuffing a ford v8 into an MGB

I did the 289 into a MGB when i was in the Army in Japan. Bought a 66 ford wagon from Property Disposal, with 289 and 3 speed tranny. Used many of the parts from it. I was able to get the cast exhaust manifolds to clear the steering shaft, with a little grinding. Used a JC Whitney shifter conversion kit. I pretty well "gutted" the firewall and fabricated a new one from a Army wall locker, oxy welding with coat hangers for welding rod. Your conversion is much more sophisticzted, and you will enjoy it immensely when completed.

My buddy just stuffed a 351 Ford v8 into one costume everything,goes good,372 gears could use an overdrive

I'm usually not a different engine swap guy. but I will give you kudos for putting a Ford instead of a Chevy in it

you have to use a Ford engine because the Ford is a narrow V8 a chevy engine is two wide , I use a chevy if it was possible to

@@petem6291 sorry I just don't like Chevys, and Ford has more influence in Europe than Chevy. so, they are with most Fords front shock towers. Make narrow v6 and v8s, good on the dude that did it. he knows.

Hydraulic throw out bearing would have saved the cut- out on the driver. Planning a 302 in a Midget, funfunfun.
