OMgoodness, your back looks so clean! Years back I had seen some stocking done by Bucilla on a stocking display and they were stuffed to the max and super 3D, don't know how they did it because as you say if you stuff too much, you can't get over the lines! thanks for all the great videos Michelle, I'm binging!

I'm using the dream wool batting for the snowman body on my stocking. Here's my problem: I cut the felt piece carefully, just inside the lines, but when placing the felt piece over the batting to pin down, I found that the felt piece was much bigger than the lines on my stocking front. I kind of obsessed with sewing directly on the lines, but now the piece pooches out a little in an empty way like it should have more stuffing. Should I have trimmed the piece to lie flat and match the lines on the stocking front before sewing?

Hi Mary, Cutting just inside the lines is recommended. After you add the batting to the felt and pin the piece to the base of the stocking. It may look odd. But, once you stitch it down, it should look like it is supposed to🙂

You say Dream Wool isn’t much more than poly-fil but the cheapest I can find on Amazon is for a twin sized bed and it’s $47. Am I looking at the wrong stuff? Quilters Dream Wool Batting Twin Size 72" x 93"

That is what I use. It may cost more now. I made the video a few years ago.
