I still remember the stings you did from these other leaves. This one did get you big time. I noticed ten minutes later, the swelling looked worse. I'm glad you were able to recover from this the very next day. That was also good that you were strong enough to avoid scratching it. Most people don't even have that kind of strength. I'd accidentally scratch if it touched me.

dude, you should try the hogweed, especially the juice of the plant. it's a photo-reactive chemical in the plant and it becomes reactive with sunlight and it can cause severe burns when you are juiced and in the sun for a couple of hours. I used it as a good aphid killer because even the sunlight going through leaves with the aphids on the underside will kill them and not hurt the mother plant. I did a nono one day and harvested the hogweed juice without gloves in slightly sunny conditions I got severe sunburn and my skin hurt for 6 days the after effect was a sunburn tattoo even individual drops turned into browned skin the part that was emerged got severe blistering at 15 years old at the time I was amazed at the power this plant has. I can't believe I'm going to harvest the seeds in this year late summer to have as a food seasoning yup! they are reported to be as cilantro/coriander seeds in taste apparently well, we will see...

Having gotten into stinging nettles before, I can’t imagine brushing up against something so much worse. Stinging nettles were horrible, but I’ve been told they’re not nearly as bad as many other stinging plants. Both legs were covered in nettle stings and I didn’t think I’d be able to drive myself the hour’s journey home, I was in so much pain. At least I don’t react at all to poison ivy. I was the only kid at summer camp one year who came out of a hike unscathed when we all trudged through a huge patch of it. Been exposed several times since then and have never gotten a rash or itching or anything.

So interesting to see it looks identical to allergic reactions. I suppose you have the context where it makes sense for your immune response to act that way. I wonder how similar the sensation is to allergic hives. After the initial chemicals from the plant are gone, i would imagine it would feel similar.

I've been wondering how much of a difference Coyote's experience is to stingy vegetation & creatures compared to real life experiences. What I mean is, while Coyote truly gets good stings by putting pressure, most often people would be hitting these plants (or stinging creatures) with more force & causing a dragging/pulling against the skin. Would real life experiences cause deeper skin layer penetration & more surface area contact compared to laying it on your arm & pushing down? I'd like to think so, but I'm also not brave enough to play "test the hypothesis" 🤣 Throughout all the stings, bites, etc. that Coyote experienced, I'm like he's done everything, so I internally joke with...... "Up next, Coyote gets rabies; let's watch the symptoms over 24 hours" I definitely do not want to see that..... way too dangerous..... had to say that for the one simple person out there who doesn't understand sarcasm & jokes lol Just imagine several decades ago, the "wildest" thing you'd find is a woman showing shoulder!

Omfg, let me tell you about urticating hairs. I used to keep tarantulas, T. Blondie, Salmon Pink, Cobalt Blue, OBT, Red knee, smithi, avic versicolor, avic metallica before the name change, regalis, and I feel like I'm forgetting a couple, drain bamage + old age = no memory. I was doing cleaning duty and had a cage in my tub, drain plugged, overflow unavailable, so it could get out but not escape. I can't remember which it was, it was probably the red knee which was surprising, but he was grumpy that day apparently and kicked hairs, ok fine it didn't get me no big deal. Get done, rinse out the tub to wash the hairs out go on about my day. Night comes and I decide to take a bath instead of a shower to relax. Nice super hot bath. Get out, go to bed. Back of my thigh starts itching a little, little more, little more, lot more, long story slightly shorter for the next few days I'm taking multiple scalding hot showers to ease the itching so I don't claw my skin off. We're talking back, a$$, back of both thighs, my left hand didn't come out clean from the kick the way I thought so it was itching too, palm and all. It was itching so bad that letting the 150⁰ - 180⁰, depending on of it was heating, it was, a lot, run down my back to my feet was the next closest thing to... You know, yes you do... To that euphoric feeling you get when... I swear to god I don't believe in. It would have been wonderful had it not been so absolutely awful. Moral of the story, if you're going to put New World tarantulas in your tub and they kick hairs, burn your house down before getting in that tub again. Seriously.

@BraveWilderness If you use a globally common plant called Broadleaf Plantain it neutralizes any plant stings I've come across including Stinging Nettle, just crush it into a paste

Must be desperate. They've stopped the high production nature content in favor of just stinging since they know that's all they're known for, which is unfortunate. I liked their nature videos.
