I learned how to ride as a teen, on a thoroughbred. My uncle gave us a 3 year old filly and said keep her for the summer (which turned into 2 years) and trail ride her and get her stronger. So we did. She beat the neighbor kids on their horses, but always looked like we never fed her because she was a skinny thoroughbred. Good memories. She never got higher than 4th place in a race and she eventually became a broodmare.

I love the shadow first it appears on the left and there’s the rider plain as day and then it moves to the right. The aerial footage is awesome and the shadow racing alongside was huge. I miss galloping, I still ride but don’t have a fit horse both of us are getting too long in the tooth to achieve much speed.

@@mattoverho1 I know😣...but if you want to see humans riding cheetahs (or big cats in general) search up "SheduCats". (Just to clarify, they aren't real cheetahs and other big cats, they're super-sized). The concept of being able to ride big cats is mind-boggling.
@Khenfu_Cake5 жыл бұрын
Well, horses,like any other domesticated species, were technically bred by humans to what they are now. The domesticated horse's wild ancestors could probably never gallop as fast as a thoroughbred f.ex. So maybe nature's fastest machines might be a bit of a misnomer, since they can basically be considered man-made.
@jamesshunt51234 жыл бұрын
Plenty of wild animals can run fast. Especially the pray animals that have to *avoid* cheetahs. The Pronghorn antelope is the second fasted land animal and at 98kph (60mph) can out-sprint predators. The Blue Wildebeest, Springbok and Thompson’s gazelle can all run at about 80kph (50mph) which almost exactly matches the top speed of a lion. Look at this list of Top 10 fastest land animals. Horses don't qualify in it. safarisafricana.com/fastest-land-animals/
@jamesshunt51234 жыл бұрын
@@Khenfu_Cake "o maybe nature's fastest machines might be a bit of a misnomer" It's not even a "misnomer" because OP only knows about TWO animals. First of all if we're to bring up the fastest animal in the world then it's the *Peregrine falcon* , which can dive at speeds up to 320km/h (200mph). Then there's a lot of fast birds on this list: The White Throated Needletail (also known as the Spine Tailed Swift) is the fastest bird in powered flight, with a top recorded speed of 171kph/106mph, so it's the 2nd fastest. The Frigate Bird is third fastest. As for the fastest LAND animals: 1. Fastest land animal: Cheetah 120.7 km / 75 m per hour 2. Pronghorn 88.5 km / 55 m per hour 3. Springbok 88 km / 55 m per hour 4. Wildebeest 80.5 km / 50 m per hour 5. Lion 80.5 km / 50 m per hour 6. Blackbuck 80 km / 50 m per hour 7. Hare 80 km / 50 m per hour 8. Greyhound 74 km / 46 m per hour 9. Kangaroo 71 km / 44 m per hour 10. African wild dog 71 km / 44 m per hour According to the Guinness Book of Records: The highest race speed recorded over two furlongs is 70.76 km/h (43.97 mph) and was achieved by Winning Brew trained by Francis Vitale (United States), at the Penn National Race Course, Grantville, Pennsylvania, United States, on 14 May 2008. Winning Brew covered the quarter-mile (402 m, 2 furlongs) in 20.57 sec. She is a 2 year old filly thoroughbred. So not even the best trained thoroughbred horse can beat any of the 10 on this list. Notice however that all those animals live in the wild where running is required either to survive or to catch fast pray. OP knows nothing.

Special english breed horses are the ones that participate in high speed racing. They are very tall so that they can perform more than 6 m long strides. The breed comes, partially, from arabian horses, which they used to have their own high speed championship in the past. As a difference, arabian horses are smaller and much better in agility and resistance, so they are the protagonists of endurance races. In general, horses are sporty animals and any vet could explain lots of details of their body constitution that probe it.

I dont support race horsing but that's an impressive gallop, what's your training methods? And stalling horses is very unhealthy for them. I'm a bit worried for him haha, I highly recommend you switch to pasture board.
@rockmemama864 жыл бұрын
1 horse racing, 2 these horses are pasture kept when not at the track and ready for show time, 3 these horses are genetically bred for this it's a memorial to the days when they raced medicine, mail, and goods across the country. These animals need this, not all will be racers, but it's not such a common practice to "abuse" or kill off non competitors. They are typically sold as brood mares, pasture companions, people's personal pets. What is there to "hate" about it. They're a working breed and this is their job. No different from a working breed of dog. Athletic animals is not abuse. And with the millions of dollars these horses are worth they're catered to better than our own dogs at home.
