I continue to be amazed at the beautiful renovations you do to these old apartments. You have an excellent eye and great respect for the "bones" of the buildings. What impresses me most of all is how natural and organic your design work is. With many designers it ends up screaming their personality or is too trendy. With you, it's like you leave the owners with a beautiful canvas upon which to put their lives. If I ever was lucky to get a NY apartment, you'd be the one I'd call right away!

I like the planning that went into the rooms for helping with a person's needs. It's great to have a place that will grow with you and accommodate assistance at home. It's not designed in an obvious way to look like like you need help. I would love living there!

Needed: interior short wood railings on either side of the terrace door into the main room; wood to match fireplace mantle; perhaps frame that door with matching molding; railings create a warm inviting (and safe) passage between spaces particularly for older guests.

That bathroom is gorgeous! I even love the old bath; in my mind, that's an original American style bath. I might have to research what a classic 8 and classic six are, especially from prior to renovation. .

A proper bathtub should be a universal human right.Unfortunately in most of her renovations Paula is replacing them with walk in showers even when there are several bathrooms in the apartment.Even when she leaves an odd tub in place it is enclosed with glass which does not invite a relaxing bath.

It's a Belgian plank, not a 'European', and part of the Belgian style, also the light grey wall as a natural tint that was there in the kitchen, certainly in combination with the pure and natural wood. Thank you for doing these videos, this is the 2nd one I am watching, it's always so nice watching homes that are renovated and really interesting to see homes in other countries :) I see a lot of similarities with Belgium and France but also distinctive American aspects and American style.

@@pmddllc as each renter ( like my family ) moves out, the pre war apartments undergo complete renovation and upgrades. I have seen the blueprints for the new apartments and hardly recognize where each room was when I was growing up there. ( from 1955-1978 ). ☹️
