I think that being known as the true and only rival to Jan Zelezny is worthy enough, he may not have won an Olympic gold or made a 98m throw, but he won way more medals than most of the 90+m throwers and remained dominant worldwide for almost 15 years. I would say that he is in my personal top3 javelin throwers since 1986, along with Zelezny and Thorkildsen.
