For those who want more accurate stats: -Zaire played 12 games in the G-League. He averaged 18 mins, ~2 PPG on 26% FG and ~3 shot attempts per game. -His 3PT% was even lower at ~19% with 1 3PT shot attempted per game. -He averaged 2 rebs, 1 ast, 1 turnover, and 1 steal per game -He also averaged just as many fouls as he did with points. In conclusion: Nepotism got him the privilege to be in the G-League, but his underwhelming skills got him put out. Unfortunately, D-Wade is the perfect example of being too involved with your kids. Let them grow naturally, you don’t need to hold their hand every step of the way, especially when they are older.

Biggest setback it usually a combo of nature vs nurture and genetics. Genetics: DWade DOES NOT dwarf his own father, who is probably a 6’3/6’4 man with big hands and broad shoulders. I think his mother is on the taller side as well Siovaughn Wade’s smaller, and Zaire just doesn’t have the same gifts D Wade has at 6’2 compared to D Wade being 6’4.5 and bigger/stronger Nature/Nurture: D Wade had some serious bullies for a father and brothers who conditioned him Zaire’s road looked pretty easy compared to D Wade’s. When the gaming consoles and bedsheets are a little too comfortable, it’s hard to stay absurdly hungry

Dude Seth Curry does not his dad in height or weight so that take is terrible.
@geezer742 жыл бұрын
@@romeod7549 Seth and Steph Curry have not anchored their games on athleticism. And this is just an exception to the rule as far as it goes with the Curry brothers. Majority of NBA greats have not had their sons replicate their successes. This all comes down to genetics. None of their sons ever grew bigger and taller than their fathers despite the improvements in nutrition in the last five decades. Jordan's kids are smaller than him, Bronny will not grow to be 6'9 like his dad, neither did Kobe get to be 6'9 like his paps, heck even Seth and Steph are not taller than their dad. This all comes down to the inferior genes passed down from their mothers, cause at the end of the day, all these nba players always end up with "pretty" women that are subpar in terms of the required gene level. Second issue is nurture, as stated in the previous comment, in that, these kids tend to be bred in a life of comfort. Whereby, comfort and contentment dissuades these kids from seeking and pursuing life goals like mastering a difficult skill. And this is because they've had their lives made out for them.

I don’t want to pretend like I know more than I do but I can give my opinion on the short time I actually spent around Zaire. I first met him years ago at DWade’s basketball camp and to give him the benefit of the doubt we were both children, him being younger than me. We met after the camp ended for the day and I was playing on a side hoop. We started playing around and he kept bragging and saying he was Wade’s son. I honestly didn’t believe him almost just off the fact of how he was acting. Definitely felt like I was playing some random annoying kid pretending to be DW son. Turned out it really was. Fast forward years later and I’m a senior at the school he’s attending freshman year (Mount Carmel).. So I never had class with the guy or really hang out with him, but I reintroduced myself, got acquainted. Off back I noticed he had that same air of thinking he was better than what he actually was or being special because of his last name. It felt less like confidence and more like smugness. I can at least say from my perspective and pretty much all the hoop varsity players, thought that he WAS NOT the best freshman and he actually wasn’t even better than his cousin (Dada Morris) who’s basically his brother. They both attended and played together at MC. There’s always been competition visibly better when he’s on the floor. After his freshman year I graduated, he transferred, and the rest is history. But beyond the fact that he truly does have talent, potential, and a feel for basketball with HOF DNA, I believe his intangibles as a player/person are what’s holding him back the most and not necessarily if he’s good or not. Yea his production is shotty but I’ve seen better players average similar numbers if not worse. His entire career his been spoon fed while he’s competing against dogs eating out the mud. It’s a different type of hunger.

No one has the balls to openly consider whether D-Wade putting a larger than life spotlight on Zaire’s 13 y/o brothers TRANSformation and making it a nationwide- if not global- phenomenon caused a lot of inner turmoil in Zaire. Going from only being asked about your game, what you’re working on, upcoming challenges etc, to do you support your young brother now being your sister, and a thousand other questions about that. Everybody looking at u differently, media all outside your door everyday etc has to be at least somewhat of a distraction if not a hardship. I personally believe that had an effect on Zaire’s mental. Wade took full advantage of that situation and brought the entire world into their lives. He (and Gabrielle Union) wanted the attention and money that came with it. Something had to fill the void left from leaving the NBA behind (and for her having her career dwindling down).This story filled it and then some. They were ready for it. I don’t think Zaire was. D-Wade & GU didn’t care about that or else they wouldn’t have made it such a spectacle.
