Rondae Hollis-Jefferson Became KOBE "2.0" Too Late! Stunted Growth

Today’s feature is the story of keeping your head down, eyes always on the goal, and being focused on developing yourself into a player that can bring something to the game as it’s played now. Rondae Hollis Jefferson has been gaining a lot of traction in the basketball world for his play in the 2023 Fiba basketball world cup where he averages 23.6 points 8 rebounds and 4 assist per game, but for more for his uncanny resemblance on the court to Kobe Bryant. Jersey Number, sneakers and all. The Kobe comparisons for Hollis Jefferson didn’t just begin though, he been called that since high school, where he was allowed to dominate the ball for his team, already physically more advanced than his competition, on his way to a five star rating and #1 prospect in his state. In college and the NBA those comparisons faded away for reasons I’ll explain later, but has made a return at 28 years old, and who knows, may even lead to second life in the NBA alla Joe Johnson’s run from the big 3 back to the league. I couldn’t imagine what the talk would be had Rondae Jaquan Hollis-Jefferson entered the NBA with the game he has today, and opportunity like Kobe Bryant had early on, where the GM in Jerry West whole heartedly believed he could become one of the greatest players ever. But, none of that happened, and for these reasons Rondae Hollis-Jefferson became Kobe 2.0 just a little too late. Stunted Growth

It's cool to see him develop, I'd like to see him on the mavs, warriors, pelicans, bucks, cavs, suns, 76ers, nuggets. Dude can contribute as a reserve on a playoff team.

Hollis Jefferson was always a good player. Even in the NBA. He got pushed to the side brocade of his lack of jumpshot but I feel like if he was drafted around now that wouldn’t even matter. The curry generation is dying down. Basketball is heading in more of a hybrid of the 2010s/curry era and early 2000s with the talent and skill level. I feel like shooting is t as much of make or break as it was around 2014-2021
@christophermoody6840

I hope you are right. I can't stand this "curry generation" as you appropriately called it. It's college basketball... a bunch of guards running around shooting Jump Shots ... that's why I never watched NCAA basketball. Just not my style. Bring back the ball I grow up watching... in the 90's, 2000's and early 2010's.

Watching some of these highlights the man was making some 3 point shots, it may not be what the fans want but he made sone shots, lets be real most of the current NBA players aren't that good of shooters, besides Curry, and Klay Thompson

Your channel is designed to manipulate the masses and in this case indirectly tell people who’ve never played the game that this individual is incapable of playing in the nba and his career is ‘stunted’. There was a video the other day of Christian Wood being washed- to lower his pay value, the Lakers pick him up for cheap, because of his lower payed value, and now everyone is praising him. The narrative is constantly changing. People who’ve played the game and actually watch the game know whatsup. Also, y’all watch out for the ‘bots’ in the comment sections. They’re designed to unconsciously alter your opinion. Stay woke.

cap rondae can't shoot 3s the 39 pt game he just had looks entirely different from the player he was his entire nba career the moves are definitely way more polished and he a better ballhandler than he was back then and the jumpshot looks better but he can't shoot i watched him his whole nba career he was never a shooter one good game not gonna sway me and christian wood can't guard anyone big yall laker fans liking this acquisition now just pray that you don't have to rely on him to play good defense or facilitate healthy offense if u have expectations for him ur prolly gonna be disappointed just like the fanbases of dallas and houston. Even the two good years he had in houston, houston fans fucking hated him cause he was a ball hog, couldn't screen, and didn't play defense at all. His best production gonna be 15-20 min off the bench, luckily lakers have the defenders to cover up his weaknesses, but most christian wood bashing is pretty balanced and justified. and by the way ur actually retarded if you think this guys videos are lowering nba contract values

I’m not sure how familiar anyone is with RHJ…but trust me… he’s no Kobe nor comparable… it’s easy to look like Kobe playing against way lesser talent. I say this not to disrespect the maker of this video or RHJ himself. It’s just the guy played college ball not too far from where I once lived so I’m familiar with his game. He looks good everywhere except on a NBA court, where he gets showed up by better talent and he almost could barely make a shot. His team was bad, true, but he had other opportunities to prove his stay in the NBA. 🤷🏾‍♂️can’t always blame teams, if there was something there someone would have seen it and adjusted. 🤷🏾‍♂️

This is a good point. I saw Rondae a lot in high school. A lot of physical gifts, but no ball skills and couldn't shoot at all, very similar to how he was at Arizona, where you must've seen him a lot. I'm happy he's developed his game more, but, as you pointed out, he's done so against much, much lesser talent, and I'm not sure those better ball skills would translate to the NBA, given he's got a NEON green light in his situations overseas, which no NBA team is giving him. Now, if he could shoot threes at least at a mediocre clip, an NBA team could use him as a 3-d guy, because he's a very good defender that can switch a lot on the perimeter, but being a non-shooter really is his kryptonite.
