Stunted Growth

Күн бұрын

No question Nate Robinson has been knocked down many times in his life. But if he sees this as a learning tool and not a loss for him, he can write his own narrative. But in this video, let's focus on Nate the basketball player. His brief history, ascendence, and early exit from basketball transitioning into the boxing world. Being knocked out in his first fight, it's only up from here. Wish him all the best. Took a champion to walk out there. What stunted this Seattle Legend's basketball growth? Here's what I think.

HE could play as KANAN'S Son if POWER was to convert from the Starz series to a Movie .I've always felt Rodney Stuckey looked like 50cent and Nate Robinson resembled 50 a lil ,he has the energy of a actor and he probably could do half the stunts in a action film.

He probably thought he was gonna run through that white boy meanwhile Jake Paul took that fight absolutely serious and trained and trained and trained. At 5'9..playing in the ERA of elite athletes PGs believe this might be a growth reached. Not many 5'9 guys play in the L as long as he did..let alone holding his own. His lack of PG skills I'm going to say played a big part..I appreciate this one SG.. his personality to me is, always I need to be seen and acknowledged. Hence the antics...he came into the league behind several 8ball (s). Almost had to walk a super fine line. No reason he should've played on so many teams..

JC, that's a perfect quote from Steven A. Smith to start the video. Unlike other guys known for their antics, Nate was never malicious or going out getting into trouble off the court. He was just goofy. I remember an interview he did back when he was a rookie and it basically tells you everything you need to know about him as a player: he said he liked to use himself in 2k so he can take all the shots. For an offense starved team like the Bulls without Rose it worked perfectly, and those playoff games should be legendary. But on a contender like Boston in 2010 he barely contributed or got on the court. Except for the Shrek and Donkey game, when he and Big Baby Davis lead them to a Finals win against LA, and the next day every media outlet was running the picture of Nate riding Baby's back while spit flies out of Davis' mouth.

I loved Nate in Chicago, that 2013 squad was pure heart. I don't think anybody averaged 20 on that team but everyone played their part. That little era from Rose's first major injury to about 2015 was probably my favorite era of the Bulls. Those teams had HEART and left it all out there on the floor even though we didn't really have that 20-25 PPG scorer we really needed. A lot of people don't remember but Noah was like top 4 in the MVP race in 2014 and won DPOY that year.

Le Comité 1 second ago I have known exceptional athletes...the biggest detriment to themselves is their immaturity. How does it get that way? Lack of guidance. People end up thinking very highly of themselves coming up having to work so hard to get to where you potentially can get, but people need support and guidance. So much more to say...still very disturbed by his boxing fight. Did he have no one who cared about him there for this endeavor? Support, guidance? Disturbing behavior to just attack from the get-go and leave yourself open...and CONTINUING with that approach. Sending good vibes to all these great athletes after they heyday...life gets harder and the work does, too...one cannot be an island, so surround yourself with good people, not those who care about your fame/potential fame, but for your well being. You also have to have some smarts in life....just some.

Love this Stunted Growth, esp considering I'm an RB alum much older than Nate: he represented the Vikings and Huskies well. One small correction tho: in his sophomore year UW did make the NCAA tournament: they lost to UAB in the first round 102 - 100. Everything else is spot on.. I first saw Nate when I went to see his teammates--the Stewart twins--play, they were ranked #2 and #3: juniors in the country behind LeBron James. They would make a good Stunted Growth because they were considered locks for the NBA. But keep up the excellent work

I don’t think his growth was stunted at all. He played for years that’s an accomplishment in itself. He probably was good enough to stick around another 2-3 years later in his career but clearly he’d pissed some people off or had a rep for having a bad attitude. That’s his only setback, playing for multiple teams later in his career could be an indication of that. Great career.

Isaiah Thomas was a score first point guard the same height as Nate (5'9") and less athletic but at his peak scored 28 a game before injuries stunted him. Pound for pound, Nate was the best athlete I've ever seen on hardwood and could've been a hall of famer given better dedication and circumstances. As is, he still was a hell of a lot of fun to watch. @@DebtFreeDad IT had more than a 2 year run. Lol wtf. You must not follow the league too well. He was serviceable in Sac, Phoenix and then he blossomed in Boston. And Damon Stoudamire was a solid starter in the league, unlike Nate Robinson who's attitude and poor shooting/playmaking and defense had him out of the league at 30.

6:46 him saying that reminds of when he was on Q and D Miles podcast saying in NY he was on a fast break and threw the ball off the back board to dunk then got benched afterwards, or something like that. All because he wanted his boys from the hood to see he made it to the league. 😂😂😂

Tbh I didn't care for his game though I thought he was a good player, but I loved that dude's heart on the court. As for him getting in the ring and taking the L so f*ckin what, of all the people on the net clowning him how many would have the balls to get in there themselves?? Salute dude for making it to the league and having a Lion's heart!!

Nate was an athlete freak for sure, with huge heart but he was a clown in the training room and was lucky he wasn't served like that youtuber did. He made amazing highlights...he was always a spurk plug, can score 40 in 2 quarters or end up with 5 turnovers and 0/5 3pointers... I loved he was able to have great games in the playoffs. And hope he is all good
