I know. Stupid ass Rockets fans think Mad Max was even top 15 or 20 SG foes vs M.J. Dumars, Starks, GP , R all way better foes vs M.J. than Mad Max. Nd we only mention these guards is because they were on the defensive vs Mike. They were never meant to or never could outscore M.J. so they had to work non stop on D vs him. Nd thus why they even have a category to fall under as, "Jordan checkers." They were never "Stoppers." Guards like Reggie Miller, Allan Houston, Sidney Moncrief, Drexler, Richmond could actually make Jordan work on both ends. So by the time Mad Max is even worth mentioning, there are so many SGs that were on Mike's radar b4 little pathetic Mad Maxine.

Ask Dwyane Wade and Shaq about his contribution to that 2006 Heat team. He was very important to that, he was a veteran voice, backed up Jason Williams, and still was a force on the defensive, and if I remember hit the game winning shot to keep the Heat alive in the finals game 3.

But, in 1994-95, our loss to the Lakers was George Karl's fault. Payton feuded with Ricky Pierce in 1993-94, and in 1994-95 George Karl feuded with Kendall Gill and Sarunas Marcilonic.

The only thing that I didn't like about this one was the fact that any blame is on Shawn Kemp ,no it was the organizations fault on why Shawn had issues with them and it was not about money for Shawn the organization didn't want to spend any money on good players !!!!!! Shawn was never a problem or a distraction from getting a ring actually SHAWN KEMP should be in the HOF without a question he was one of the only players who literally carried the NBA and made it what it is known for today and that's showmanship and excitement , if course there were a few guys that had that as well buy Shawn was straight out of high school and was the too three best players easy from 90 season to 1997 do the history that boy got robbed out the HOF and he did all of this in that era with all those Hall of famers he shined above all of them he was in every All-Star game and he shine defense and offense so underrated !!!

I know this is nit picky, but Vin Baker came from the Bucks right? I mean, it was a three way deal that sent Kemp and Sherman Douglas to Cleveland........Cleveland sent someone to the Bucks and the Supes got Baker. Something like that. He never came from Cleveland though.

GP put the work in every time he stepped on the court, so yea he can ring chase. Aint like he sat around and complain. I think John Salley aint put no work in and he got a few rings.

Should of paid Kemp more or with some kind of bogus bonus to stay, he was angry they paid their 20 min center more than him. Find a better scoring 6th man off the bench and they would of been golden till retirement

So Gary Payton was “ring chasing?” .. the man had an exceptional career.. why would u not put yourself in the BEST POSITION TO WIN especially LATE in your career?? How the hell did he ring chase?? .. when he went to Miami, he didn’t have to do the bulk-of the work... he was OLDER.. the older u get your role minimizes... that wasn’t RING CHASING. The glove knew the only thing missing to solidify his career was A CHAMPIONSHIP. can’t call it ring chasing because late in his career he put himself in the best position to get him 1 before going out.. who tf wants to go to a GARBAGE team with no chance of competing for a title?? Make that make sense.

You should stop doing Hall of Fame greats like this. Gary Payton had no stunted growth. He was great.
