With a few more things added to his bag Bazley could be something. Wonder if he'll get significant opportunity again though.

This is what I dont like with Rich Paul. They're the ones who insist their decisions despite their players not liking these deals that they are to sign. Countless times, Rich Paul just leaves the ship when he feels it's starting to shrink. Look at Nerlens Noel who they talked to sign a one year deal instead of taking that 75 mil for 4 years coz they badly want to squeeze the pockets out of the Dallas Mavericks. I mean, look at how they handled that AD trade from New Orleans. It left a bland taste to the league and AD acted very unprofessional when they couldnt force him a trade to LA mid season.

Right he thought going to the league would be a cake walk. These kids dont want to work for shit. To be great you gotta work at least 4 hours off the court without the ball (Weights,running hills, strength training,flexibility, footwork etc) daily then 4,5 hours in the gym with the ball handling, shooting, cones, free throws etc
@Jack-jx6ln10 ай бұрын
Kind of besides the point but I don't think the G League ignite is a good way to develop talent. The players are just allowed to make mistakes in the name of showing flashes. Whereas college teams are actually incentivized to win and the coach has authority to bench a young guy who isn't ready. On the ignite if you're not ready they just let you keep making mistakes without a proper foundation to improve

@Tay04723 He just dropped 20 tonight, so I wouldn't say he's bad. To say he's backlogged on a team with too many centers (Isaiah Stewart, Marvin Bagley, & Jalen Duren) would be a better observation, IMO. You have to also take into account his injury history and that he was drafted onto a championship team (Dubz) that expected him to be an immediate contributor vs. choosing to develop him as a player, he's just incredibly unlucky. He'd be a serviceable player with a decent upside on another team in the right situation.

A couple things I disagree with here. Bazley would have been fine playing in G League if he chose too he was not to weak at all, and the following year as a rookie proved that as he put up great per 36 numbers and is just one of those guys that plays a lot stronger than he looks. Also it worked out because he did get picked in the 1st round which was the goal for the 15th ranked HS prospect one year removed from HS. Then he had a solid rookie year and became a starter the following 2 years. The only snag in his development was his shot not becoming consistent enough which is why OKC let him go as did the Nets. But good for the Sixers because we now got a gem on the cheap.

Seeing him on OKC I thought he'd be a new breed of slightly undersized , athletic, but versatile PF/SF. He showed he had many skills. My Sixers actually brought him in on a 10 day earlier this year. They also brought in DJ wilson on a 10 day , who i think still has potential to be a decent stretch big who can play a little defense. Not sure why Wilsons not on a roster. EDIT : I think Rich paul giving advice to not play in the Gleague was a "tell" of sorts - that backfired....what it indicates to me was Rich paul didnt have confidence in his abilities or development to dominate on that level , making it pretty poor management advice. If he honestly thought he was NBA level & potential, why wouldn't you have confidence in him being superior in the Gleague and upping his perceived value? It shows me he knew he wasn't ready, so it was a bluff of sorts , decided to go the route of "mystery" drivin up teams curiosity, when really he couldn't afford to miss out on that development step that would improve him & his skills at such a young age. That no doubt stunted his further development at a very important stage of his young career.
