And the funny thing is. The moment I heard that it made a lot of sense. The lead is most likely a senior actor or has at least a ton of experience and know that there are hardships especially when you do the same work for less than millions. So he or she needs to try to elevate the mood at hard times to then elevate the movie itself.

I would guess that they do a couple hours at a time, then cut it into these smaller clips so that Gui doesn't have to come back every other week. They probably all do wardrobe changes to make it appear like separate times. Idk

@@snork_games To my knowledge, Raycon has extra bass. A LOT of extra bass. So if you are just using them to listen to certain genres they excel, but if you want full spectrum they aren't the best. In that sense, I'd compare them to skullcandy.

Lau Kar Wing is a real martial arts master. He is the guy fighting Sammo. He is a direct descendent of Wong Fei Hung - in terms of martial arts training. He wasn't opera trained, he was doubled by Yuen Biao for the gymnastic moves. His old brother is legendary Shaw Brothers director Lau Kar Leung. They're both extraordinary martial arts exponents.

The rundown scene reminds me of my childhood antics. We lived at the top of a hill and one of my favorite things to do was, when it was snowing I'd run and do a flip and just the roll down the hill at full speed

The “broken ribs” move is called a senton in pro-wrestling. You just tense those muscles and take it. As far as bumping down the hill, I loved doing that in winter when I was a pro-wrestler. But a snowy hill has much fewer pointy objects and other inconsistencies to hurt yourself on.

You're right but when wrestlers take a move like that or from the ropes they place their arms in certain a way so they can absorb the shock, the stuntman here didnt't, probably because he had padding.

When a wrestler lands on another wrestler, that other wrestler just tenses up, arms at their side. It’s all about compression and tension. You don’t want your arms out to get landed on. Historical, modern, action, all of those stories are being told visually by people like him committing entirely to a scene, often knowing that they'll never be recognized or praised. The Kenshin movies were the first ones to give me hope about a GOOD anime to live action adaptation, something that showed love for the source material and had a budget. Those hopes died a violent death with the Full Metal Alchemist movie and whatever that Attack On Titan movie was *shudder*.

Okay, real question. Live action animes have alway disappointed me, but that being said, I have never seen the Rurouni Kenshin movies. So, here's my question because these fight scenes look amazing: Are the movies worth it for anything else other than the fight scenes? I grew up with Rurouni Kenshin when the anime was on Toonami and it was one of my favorites, but I've been kind of scared to watch the live action ones because I don't want to "ruin the experience" per se.

Love Stuntmen react. It is so cool to have the opportunity to see how these stunts were pulled off. This series really makes me appreciate the hard work these talented men and women have put in. I would love to see Jackie Chan sit on that couch and go over some of his stunts, though I think that episode would need to bee in several chapters because there is so much to cover. Would love to see To Cruise join you guys as well and hear his take on some of his stunts. Love him or hate him he is dedicated to his craft. Apollo 13 microgravity simulation for filming definitely qualifies as a stunt. I would love to see a reaction to the actors actually floating without wires, and floating objects back and forth to one another. To do that, they had to shoot on a set build inside an aircraft decending from high altitude at the speed of gravity, and ascend again between takes.

The amount of times you guys referenced WWE in this video I think you guys should do a Stuntmen React to wrestling. That stunt where the guy jumps directly onto the other guys ribs? There’s at least two current wrestlers on WWE that have very similar moves. (Kevin Owens does the move almost exactly, and Finn Balor does something similar only he’s double foot stomping into their ribs from the top rope.) Would be fun to see you guys react to absurd crap these guys do to themselves every week. (Or every night when they are touring!)

The old Chinese Kung Fu films from the 70s and 80s had some legit stunts and fight choreography that influence what we even have today. A few of my favorite fights scenes ever are anything in the Drunken Master films, Jackie Chan vs Benny Urquidez in Wheels on Meals, Yuen Biao vs Frankie Chan in The Prodigal Son, Jackie Chan vs Brad Allen in Gorgeous and Jet Li vs Yasuaki Kurata.

The Rurouni Kenshin trilogy is full of great battle sequences. Beyond typical "fan-boying", they're really great works. Like Gui was pointing out they have a quick pace, but show long bits; long enough to demonstrate the current abilities of the character and establish a predicament. I'd suggest reviewing a few more for some of the gnarly stunts in them. They were able to use physical stunts and some practical effects to display some of the super-human abilities depicted in the anime, and for the too over the top things, they were able to compromise amicably in my opinion. But the fight scenes are like what the fight scenes in Batman Begins was trying to do but provides more established shots. There's still some quick cuts and pans, but you can at least establish that someone is definitely not having a good time instead of, "shadows, blur, flash, blur, more blurs, batman, blur, shadows, fade, blur."

So for the Knockabout clip, I think the pro wrestling comparison is actually pretty significant since I think it might explain how the guy didn't break his ribs. It looks like near the end, the guy on the ground lifts his lep up in a way as to where it'll break the fall of the guy falling a bit. Of course, it could also just be that the force is being distributed evenly enough as to where it doesn't have enough direct force to break ribs. Though, he also could've just broken his ribs.

I’ve used ray on for a year now. They are super cheap, a lot of the other ones I’ve used are like $500 $400 ray con has a $75 option and a $120 option. They sound great and I’ve dropped them more times than I can count, still works fine.

I actually think Lone Survivor is the more painful one - it wasn't so much against brush so they didn't have bushes and foliage slowing them down, it was just rock and dirt on the sides of a hill. But i think Lone Survivor is more edited than Rundown,

OMGOSH I love that movie so much, I was going to be a British Literature major before chronic illness took me out of university, and then I get Chaucer's Knight's Tale with HEATH LEDGER! I was a teenage girl at the time sooooooooooooooooooooooooo................................................ But yeah, Alan Tudyk and Heath Ledger, the blacksmith's a girl!! with great design and this trippy modern music environment with some beautiful choreography that a HEMA student like me appreciated greatly..... It's a very underlooked masterpiece in my opinion, and I've love to see an in depth dive regarding like how animal/equestrian arts are handled in the modern digital era compared to the "old days" of film. I mean, we're getting really good at hiding things and being more seamless, but you can still tell when the poor artist ran out of time and had to make sure he didn't kill a real horse falling down that hill over there. Oh Josiah, if you've not heard of the show "Roar" from years and years ago, and you're a fan of historical fantasy and Heath Ledger, you might want to check it out if it's on something. I'm in a place where my internet speed is "cornfield," so I don't have any streaming services other than free youtube so I don't know if anybody has it on and I am exhausted and babbling I'm sorry, be safe and well my friend.
