To be fair to Daria about punching her Russian opponent, the gong already sounded and the ref already called ma-te after Daria scored, but her opponent hung onto the armbar anyway even as she postured and stood straight. Daria suffered an arm injury in that semi-final match as a result of that late armbar and could not compete in the finals.

some of these hand or wrist bites are from the other person jamming the wrist and hand into the mouth of the opponent; y0u can tell by the pulling motion of the person supposedly biting of the persons hand away from the mouth but the other person jamming it into the mouth to make it seem like they were biting or it was simply incidental which is also reasonable

Bilodid is fighting dishonestly. as it grows, its mass should be 7 kg more, it removes water before weighing and then overeats. She wins unfairly, with her height and weight, she must fight in another category, but there she will not even enter the top 10.

@@ortxxx IJF judo has a 5% weight rule where a judoka cannot be more than 5% heavier on the day of competing. So if a judoka competes in -90kg, they can't be more than 94.5kg on the day they compete. This rule somewhat prevents severe weight cutting from occurring. Daria likely carefully watches her weight to avoid getting too heavy for her current -48kg class.

That last one was especially messed up, those were legitimate punches on that guy head, and those were sweeps, those were full powered kicks to make him off balance. But seriously, biting, you don't want to get choked so you decide to bite the persons hand really. This really upsets me bro. I really want to learn Judo too and stuff like this really just takes away my motivation for wanting to learn that martial art. I'm learning Jiu Jitsu right now, but still I don't just want to focus on Ne-Waza, I want to learn as much standing stuff as I can. Bottom line, never give your back and learn jiu jitsu if you really want to avoid that choke, that way you don't have to bite, losing is better than being DQ'ed. Thanks for reading my Ted Talk.

前回のオリンピックでは、まるで「ここは動物園？はたまた幼稚園か？」といった惨状で、「柔道やると人はここまで礼儀知らずの野蛮人になるのか！」とビックリしましたけど、今回のオリンピックでは、そういった人たちは見かけませんでしたね。 ただ、今回のオリンピックでは審判の人達が皆、まるで両班のように口を開くのも身体を動かすのももったいないといった様子で所在無げにプラプラしてて、「君たちは何のためにいるの？」といった感じでシュールでした(笑) 関節技や締め技に入ったら、すぐに止めに入れるように素早く近づいて伏せるなりなんなりして「参った」を見逃さないようにしないといけないと思うんですけど、動くのもおっくうといった様子でやる気なさげに遠巻きに見てるのでひやひやする場面がありました。 ルール変更で一時と比べて観てる分にはかなり面白い競技になってましたが、間違っても子供たちに習わせてはダメですね。ただでさえ体育会系は頭がおかしいのが多いのに柔道家はヤバ過ぎます。

@@bochan207 i think it would help, but it could be like killing a fly with a shotgun. it is a shame that they get DQ from time to time. but sometimes they spend a loooot of time just waiting from bout to bout. some people even go 10+minutes into golden score, so it also help with anxiety. Given it was a 1-day local tournament, but an ex-teammate of mine had to wait around 4 hours for a call into the tatami. and i think IJF rules carries over to most local tournaments as well. maybe they should encourage to do a quick check for the wrists, neck and belt for some foreign item before every tatami entry

​@@oa8591 Philosophically you could make the argument that you might not be able to seperate politics and religion from life completely, but in the context of a sport, the individuals competing can absolutely choose to not bring politics and religion into the arena. I support Israel, but I could not dream of letting that fact influence my behaviour on the tatami, and the fact that we disagree on these things are the very reason they are important to keep out of the sport, because on the mat we are judokas and should treat eachother with respect.
