My husband told me about a group of men (from a northern state, in us) driving through a town he lived in here, in Alabama. They thought it'd be a good idea to rob a liquor store. They came in, managed to grab his wife(she'd been walking an aisle), demanded money. He went to the register area, called out "down", she dropped to the floor and he shot the one holding her , another got hit as he turned to flee; and he ran after the 3rd, firing, as the guy got to their vehicle. Store owner wasn't charged. And the 3 guys weren't going to need money anymore.

In the one with the victim repeatedly ramming the carjackers' car, there would be NO penalty if any of the criminals had died. NO prosecutor or judge would have ANY problem with it. They'd see it as the always-possible outcome of the criminals' career choice.

Unfortunately, that's not true everywhere. Example - the bodega owner in NYC who was arrested and charged with murder when, after a guy and his GF attacked him (the GF stabbed him - twice I think), he ended up killing the guy. The D.A. only let him go (on bail!) after the huge outcry over it! That kind of thing happens in certain jurisdictions.🙁

Mille has not taken any self defense lessons. Most of her decisions would have turned out badly. Aways stay with your vehicle and use it. Never lock yourself in with the bad guy. And do no follow them if they run.

Recently in the US there was a attempted robbery in Las Vegas, the store owner stabbed the robber 7 times after he hopped the counter, life lesson don't rob someone unless your prepared to get hurt, find the video on your own time, it's to graphic to show on your page

When I was very young ,I worked nights in liquor stores in Manhattan for a couple of years. I was held up 3 times. Two of the times the guys showed me guns and I was cool and let them clean out the register with no problem . On the third one a big guy walked in wearing a trench coat . He didn't say a word ,just handed me a note which said " I demand $200 " he had his hand in the coat pocket and pushed it forward as if he had a pistol in the pocket . I said ," I'll make a deal with you . If you have a gun ,show it to me and I'll give you the money ." I reached behind me and grabbed a liter bottle of whisky off the shelf by the neck and said " but if you don't have a gun , I'm going to break this bottle on the counter and shove the jagged end up your ass " He turned around and ran out of the store .

I remember a story from a few years ago when four people attempted a home invasion. Three entered the home while one was the get-away driver. I believe it ended with the three who entered the house being shot and killed by the homeowner and the get-away driver was charged with three counts of murder or homicide.

You're already recorded doing the robbery! Unless you can find and destroy/take the recording (and the *very* high-risk places have an off-site recording being made right along with the on-site one), you've set yourself up. Yup..I had too many close calls so I started packing at work...I don't care if I get fired for using it.. my life is worth more then that job is. I only had my witts to save myself and that a scary thought...I had a man pull up but out in parking lot away from cameras.. this middle of the night at a gas station.. myself and the other employee were outside smoking.. he walked up with a fag bag on his waist and the butt of a gun sticking out. He says, "do you'll ever worry about getting robbed "? I lied out my ass when I told him. "nope, you see that TV.. it goes directly to the police dept and they're here in under a min. " He tried getting us to go in store in front of him.. nope..I was trained back when they actually trained you how to handle this..I told him I would be right in when I got done with my cig and for him to go on in. he went inside, I told my co-worker.. NO MATTER WHAT, EVEN IF HE ROBS ME YOU DON'T COME IN.. IF YOU COME IN WE ARE BOTH DEAD! YOU KEEP AN EYE AND IF YOU SEE ANYTHING, RUN OUT BACK TO THE POST OFFICE PHONE AND CALL 911. So when this man left I called 911 while he was still in the parking lot going to his suv. I had one time I saw in the kid's eyes he was scared and was gonna rob me..I told him he would be surprised who carried..(I wasn't btw, I was lying to him).. he left. another one was casing the store, I had 2 rednecks I didn't even know come to counter and I told them what was up and I had called cops, could they hang out till cops arrive.. they were happy to and their presence kept me safe. way way more stories like this.. but ppl don't really understand until they place themselves , can picture what really goes on in these work places.

In that gate one, at least in the US, no jury will find anyone guilty of any crime. You have a right to defend yourself. For a more extreme example of self defense , see the Kyle Rittenhouse trial.

The only times I've ever seen a store where they have the ability to lock the doors remotely (magnetically btw), is when there's bullet proof glass between the cashier and the customer/thief. I've also seen glass dividers that close and block the intruder from the cashier that can be put in place as the door closes.

I read something about thirty years ago, before KZbin was available. State of Washington USA. A couple of guys decided to rob a gun shop. The shop had a series of baffles just inside the front door, so you couldn’t make a straight path in or out of the store. Two police officers were inside the store and their marked patrol car was parked outside. Every gun shop that I have been to, the staff is licensed for open carry and has a sidearm in a holster. Finally, Washington has a very high number of citizens licensed to carry concealed weapons. Yet the two geniuses decided to rob the gun shop. It did not turn out well for them.

The video showing the White SUV vs the White mini-van took place in Brazil. Had the owner driven over the thugs, it's likely the police wouldn't have done anything. It's not just cuz Brazilian cops are crooked and easily bribed, Brazil has little sympathy for criminals. The poverty is high there and street thieves, of any age aren't seen as human. The attitude is preferred that someone end their lives rather than paperwork time or the expense of jailing criminals. I've seen videos of police gathering street kids onto a pickup truck, taking them to the edge of town, and killing all of them. Tourists are treated better than the citizens only because of the need for money there. It wasn't that long ago that crimes like rape or a jealous husband throwing acid in his wife's face meant a sentence of a few days to 3 months.

“Don’t defend yourself” is by long and far the worst advise ever. Because a sociopath/psychopath lacks any and all empathy, they don’t care about your begging or even surrendering your in the way and a witness. while a majority of these robberies are low level criminals just looking for a quick $, you eventually will encounter someone who will see you as baggage or a witness and just off you if you don’t fight and get them the eff away and keep their weapon away from you. Better advice is to learn proper self defense techniques and train yourself to know what to look out for.

3:12 There are two reasons for the lady to react the way she did. 1) Knew it was fake by looking at it (which means she KNOWS firearms). There are a few things to look at to tell if its real or a fake.... example is when i helped a magician one year as a kid, he had a prop-gun, and while it looked like a real gun, there was a metal rod down the middle of the 'opening' of the barrel giving it the look of 2 'doors', so i knew it was fake. 2) She had been working at the store so long she literally gave no shits about the would-be robber and called him on his bluff.

A freind and were at a steak house in the 80's which was right around the corner from the Police Station. Two guys ca.e in to rob the place and we both found out there were about ten of the plainclothes Denise's there also eating when they all pulled their guns and arrested the robbers and called the Station to come and pick them up. The robbers turned to find they brought knives to a gunfight then.

Sometimes, when forced to do so, reversing and ramming will scare these car-robbers to the point of peeing in fear, and they may even abandon the car and run away like in the movie. However, these car-robbers usually cannot run very far before they are caught by the police.

Usually the objective is to do what you can to remove the threat unless you can meet it with equal force. Locking yourself in a store where you are facing 2 against 1 odds is not wise. Plus it makes the police unable to enter. The only situation where an immediate lockdown seems wise is if the criminal is still outside, or it is a case of child abduction. Using the car as a force multiplier was smart as it created a more level playing field. I don't think the point was to injure/kill anyone; rather it was forcing the criminals to abandon their transportation which would give law enforcement some evidence as to the identity of the criminals. Depending on what country or regional laws are in place once the threat is removed you usually cannot pursue with intent to harm. You may be interested, if you haven't already, in learning the story of a US Navy Seal named Marcus Luttrel. He pursued but did not harm the criminals who killed his dog for no reason. It was very John Wick.

Of course it's easier to get caught nowadays but that doesn't matter when it isn't punished properly. Harsh punishment is what prevents crime. When you were liable to lose a hand for stealing, very few people were willing to take that risk.

The "Best" recourse to do sadly in the reality we live in, is always have a plan on how to 'deal with' people who do this type of thing in whatever position you work in. And i do NOT mean 'deal with' in a mild, peaceful, do what they say, manor. I mean 'deal with' in the manor that means YOU go home to your family, and whatever ultimately happens to the people who 'chose' to endanger you, well.. happens.

The one around the 3 minute mark, I have to assume it was an obvious fake. I've been robbed and the gun they used turned out to be a pellet gun but when the dude pulled it out of his pants you could not not tell at all. Then again, a lot of us retail workers just don't give a shit. In my case him and his girl came in masked(pre-covid) and I was like "... Y'all wanna take those masks off?" and he said, "No, give us the money!" so I responded with "...No?..." at which point he reached for the piece and I complied. Couldn't help but be a smartass still though when I asked him if he wanted the change too lol. Work retail long enough and the amount of fucks you have to give dissipates quite a bit.

The video is real. The man has severe mental health issues and would go into that store and try and "rob" them with a toy gun. He apparently did this quite often so it got to the point that the workers and shoppers just ignored him.
