I always click on this video and I say "I'll just hear one or two songs then I'll do something else" and I always end up watching the whole thing, it's just amazing, Sturgill really got me into bluegrass music

Been a SS fan for some time now and this “back to his roots” concert Is a welcome return to where he started musically. The musicianship displayed is incredible. I’ve watched this about 4 time’s now and each viewing it just gets better and better. And Sierra Hull, the mandolin player, is superb. As is the entire band. Can’t wait until the 2 bluegrass albums are released later this year!!

Something I've always loved about Bluegrass music is the fact that you can take the most sad, somber lyrics and package them in a piece of music that's still upbeat and makes you feel good regardless of the situation you're in. It’s been a sad one and official cancellations being added all the time. Music festivals - nope. State fairs and county fairs - some that have been held annually for 100 to 150 years - sorry, not this year. Baseball - still nothing for sure. Got to see Sturgill once LIVE in 2018 and would love to see him again ! Waylon Lives On through Sturgill`s music. The Ryman is a place my brother took me to 3 times and I`m grateful for it, even though it was nearly a 1,500 mile round trip ! I`d do it again if he was still with us. What a Great Venue !!! @@stereostigma5794 Yes, I was talking pre Sunday Valley; pre-Oregon Pickathon that everyone likes to talk about. Career likely on my part was hyperbole. He grew up in Kentucky immersed in bluegrass. His guitar playing bears the clear imprint of a bluegrass flatpicker. I've always loved that you can hear the influence in all of his albums and even in his vocals. Heck, if you added banjo, quite a bit of Sunday Valley sounds like bluegrass. Then again, the Bill Monroe -- Elvis connection has been talked about ad nauseum.

Well done, i have several of your cd's and follow on you tube. This set is BY FAR WAY ABOVE AND WITHOUT A DOUBT THE VERY BEST SOUND AND MUSIC you have everput out. Not over produced just good ole acoustic greatness.. Dude your voice is awesome and comes through in the booming acoustics of that although empty shell of a venue. I would by that cd for sure.
