SO EMOTIONALLY MATURE to support your FRIENDS feelings ab something that’s unfortunately seen as scandalous. Coming out can feel SO consuming of our mental health and emotional rational that it’s understandable that most people are so preoccupied with their own journey that we forget how other people are affected by it. I remember one of my friends emailing me after I officially came out and she told me she was only sad and a little angry that I hadn’t felt comfortable sharing it with her before so many other people, and at first I wanted to be angry at her or call her unsupportive but then I realized my own personal experience and hardship had nothing to do with HER own personal experiences and hardships. Coming out should be easy but it’s not and I think a lot of people forget to not just consider other peoples reactions to it but also that those other people have a full ass life outside of our ties to them. Sorry I’m ranting but this video has honestly given me so much hope for the future when it comes to being queer. Emotional intelligence and empathy and awareness outside of oneself is so important and I’m really proud of Nick as well as his brothers and friends being so supportive xo

I needed this when I was 17. There was nobody to talk to and it was a lonely place to be. I'm now 57 and seeing videos of the younger generations being public is such a great thing. Able to find one another as a support system that also included straight friends is a powerful thing. Time moves fast. Faster and faster which you will notice when you hit 40. Ask your parents. I'm an FTM which means a female to male transgender and my mom says to me "Your not a boy your a girl. I'm trying to protect you. You're confused, this is a phase it will pass." It hasn't passed.
