Razor Ramon is one of the most underrated workers. He gets all his flaws magnified but no one gives him the props he deserves. Great in ring worker and helped get the careers of 123 Kid/X-pac, Justin Credible , the Hardy Boys and when was told to go over on Jericho but instead he told Jericho to pin him. But none of that ever gets talked about.

even in the dying days of AWA when he was with Hennig, he looked like the proverbial "puppy with big paws". you knew he was going to be money, but how, where, and how long will it take to get him there? he really should be coaching or teaching character development though, WWE is picking up SO MANY of his size guys and up who DO NOT know how to work properly for their frame. either they're big lumbering idiots, or cruiserweight wannabe's breaking themselves trying to do cool moves.

Scott Hall is one of the few workers in the business who is rated exactly how he should be, if anything nowadays his supporters overrate him...he probably should have won some world title at some time or at least had at least one feud at the top of the card instead of being midcard 4 life, but he fucked himself over with that and has nobody to blame but himself for never ascending to that level, so honestly, fuck him He's not particularly bad at anything, but he's not cream of the crop either, he doesn't have any shitty matches, but he doesn't have a whole bunch of great ones either, he had some great tools in ring unlike HHH, but he never put it together to really come off as being great, he was a dick and a cancer in the locker room, he wanted to work less and whine about not making more I think he would've been a lousy world champion, but he could've gotten a short run I suppose, but it doesn't matter either way....in hindsight Scott Hall was exactly where he should've been, any other talk just feels like misguided nostalgia to me

I agree that his downfall is partly of his own doing. But that doesn't change that he is slightly overlooked and maybe could have had at least one world title reign, for either company.

According to a Scott interview, he talked to Vince about getting a belt, Vince said, the belt goes to people who need help getting over, you don’t have any trouble there and people care about you regardless of if a title is involved or not, so let’s leave the belt for the guys who need the extra pop... Scott says that always stayed with him and he looked at the belt differently after that, never had a desire to get it after that because he kinda looked at it like a crutch. If you ever see an interview with him, when asked, he always says, I didn’t get it because I never needed to have it to draw. Class guy, I drank beer with him several times after shows. Was always extremely polite and nice to fans like me and my friends when he had absolutely no reason to. He actually introduced me to several other wrestlers. Underrated is a word commonly used because he was the total package and honestly should have had the strap forced on him a time or two for legacy sake. People put a lot of emphasis on a world title in a profession that is scripted, seems kinda stupid to base a persons impact on something like that.

When he was a baby face and you heard those tires screech the crowd went NUTS. he was super over and I believe would have had a world title run if Kevin Nash hadn't come in at that specific time with his size and stature without steroids, also getting a lot of rub from shawn Michaels in the back. Kind of crazy that Vince wouldn't just give Scott the money he wanted and he had to go to WCW to get it. It is extremely difficult to find someone that had his overall skill, I mean their was no weaknesses in his game at all. Wasn't Vince already closing in on billionaire status by the mid to late 90s. As a kid, Razor was my number one favorite to watch, everything he did from his punches to his finisher just looked real and he was so believeable much more so then the other top guys at the time and I can only wonder if guys like Luger were making more then him when it was obvious to anyone with a brain that Scott was worth so much to the company. To lose a talent like that for money is crazy, I can see if he is injured, drug or personal problems ruining him and its effecting his performance, but just to save a buck. That being said if Vince gave him the raise, the whole nWo would have never been a thing and my all time favorite time in wrestling would have ceased to exist.

If you can't afford it, you can't afford it. Remember he employed many of rasslers. Payroll for umpteen wrestlers, stage techs, broadcasting/arena rental bills, diesel for semis, insurance for wrestlers, insurance bonded to protect the ticket buyers, the money wasn't a personal thing, when your running a business, if you go belly up, your letting your family, employees and fans down.. it is what it is. If you can't help yourself, you can't help anybody else.

Bruce is a bit off with some of the details here. In regards to the telegram that Razor sent to Vince... he was required to send a notice by telegram 90 days before his contract ended or it would automatically roll-over. This wasn't Razor being a jerk. It was required. Also, Razor had met face-to-face with Vince on several occasions. He asked him for a guaranteed contract. He asked for a bump in pay. He asked if he could have a few days off to work in Japan for extra money. He even met with Vince one last time to ask him if he could match WCW's offer. Hall took every possible step to stay on good terms with WWE.

It is disrespectful to say Shawn had a 5 star match with a ladder. Not saying he's an amazing athlete and that he's a much better worker than Razor, but Hall was really good to and always willing to job. This gimmick was great. They make like Hall did nothing in the ladder match. I wouldn't have a problem with people saying Shawn was the star and came off better than Hall even though he lost, but saying that makes it sound like Hall was a bum. If I was Scott Hall I would be pissed. They can say they're not disparaging him, but what if someone said something about you at your job, etc.

I always felt that the clique held Hall back. He was more over than Shawn or Diesel and I guess out of some feeling of loyalty, he let them have the main events. I waited several years for Hall to get a due push in the WCW, but instead he played Nash’s Beefcake, despite Nash being a lazy, boring, one-trick pony who happened to be a little taller than Hall. If I recall, there was even a time when Hall won some sort of rumble in the WCW, which was supposed to determine the next challenger for the heavyweight title against Hogan, but Hall (kayfabe) turned it down to keep the NWO pecking order intact. That really bummed me out, because I hate Hogan and he was boring.

And even though they admit they didn’t like the guy back then, later on in WCW Bam Bam did get along with Kevin Nash and Scott hall just fine, I have heard Kevin Nash, Scott Hall, and the kid all in separate interviews say that even though they didn’t like the guy that he definitely belonged in the WWF because he was one of the best workers in the business.

Scott had his demons that is for sure. Razor was a great star in wrestling. I think losing Razor and Diesel was the first big blow in the Monday Night Wars. When he gave his 90 day notice, I think Vince was petty as fuck cause he didn't want to lose Scott to WCW. Conrad is right 2+2=4. He was the bad guy who had great matches as Razor Ramon. Look razor changed what wrestling was to what we know it today as in the way of guarantee money and multiyear contracts for said amount of money ... once he set that up with wcw and nash followed with his contract after that vince had to start the same thing to keep his talent and thus started the crazy amount of money the top guys get... and not only that he had the very first angle on the 3rd raw with 123 kid witch in a way started the weekly storylines on raw . Rather then it just being a televised house show ... and so on .....razor really did alot for what wrestling was in the late 90s and early 2000s in regards to the business aspect of it and essentially changed the way guys get paid and get locked in to contracts

Conrad mentioned Bret having a problem with a finish with Diesel at Survivor Series but I had heard after watching a Kevin Nash video was it was actually at In Your House when Bret Hart fought Diesel in the cage. it lead to Undertaker vs Diesel at Wrestlemania with Undertaker actually saying to Bret this isn't always about you

Conrad was getting a little grumpy at about the halfway point. He sounded a bit tired. Him cutting off Bruce during one of his gimmicks was kinda funny. :-)

*Donovan "Razor" Ruddock* likely gets credit for the "Razor"...... and *Tito Santana* gets credit for the "Ramon". (Not to mention you had "Tokka" and "Rahzar" in the movie *Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2* in 1991 and *ACDC* releasing their album "The Razor's Edge" in September 1990.) All the pieces were falling into place to make "razor" the most popular nickname at the time.

I’m probably the only one to say this in the comment section the WWF during those days I don’t speak on the current product because I do not watch it, but WWF was ran by sick twisted people. I could literally fill the whole comment section with some of the stories about the people working in the WWF
