Rude was awesome & he paid his dues. ESPN used to air a show called Legends of World Class Championship Wrestling. It was older WCCW programs, a lot of David Von Erich era stuff. I remember seeing him here early in his career as jobber Rick Rudd & already looked fantastic. I particularly remember him getting squashed by Kimala, barely getting in an offensive move. I'm glad he eventually got his push. My mother R.I.P. had a huge crush on him. I took her to a WCW house show, where he was in the main event against Ron Simmons. He did his spot where he got partially depantsed & showed his ass. My mom lost her mind. She had so much fun that night & I will always remember it.

Rude was (and is) without a doubt in my top 10 favorites ever in the business. One of the greatest heels of all time and it's an absolute travesty that he had a career ending injury as he was finally getting his deserved due when he went to WCW. So many great feuds he had. Jake Roberts, Ric Flair, Ricky Steamboat, Roddy Piper, Warrior, etc. Plus he was also a part of some of the greatest factions in wrestling history with The Dangerous Alliance, Degeneration X & New World Order. Miss the hell outta him. #RIPRick #CutTheMusic #KeepTheNoiseDown

Ravishing Rick was one of the all time greats in WWF and Vince really dropped the ball on him.He shouldve been WWF champ at least once. But he chose to put two talentless hacks like Hogan & Warrior on top.Rick was hands down better than both these scrubs put together.Athletically,on the mic,in the ring, you name it.Tragic RIP Ravishing 1.

Marcus B That's not entirely true. He knew how to work the crowds, wherever he went, and they wanted to see him get his ass kicked. That was great business for Warrior in WWF and Sting in WCW. Those feuds did well for the companies in question. I would say that Rude was the best heel in either company during his time there. Tell us, did Sgt Slaughter draw a dime? They put the belt on him for a couple months. Iron Sheik too. It can be argued that WWF would've done even better business with Rude as champion for a few months, building up a feud with Hogan or another with Warrior.

I love this old wrestling talk. I haven't watched wrestling since 1998 (a little over 20 years as of writing this) and it brings back so many memories and childhood nostalgia. Furthermore, I've stumbled across a few q&A's of old wrestlers as well as POS says and aside from listening to Cornette talk about anything these two are my favorite. Good questions and incredibly insightful answers. I'll probably never get a reply on thie way late comment but any way someone can tell me why Pritchard left the company?

Round the 42 minute mark Bruce hit on something that is a truth, a major glaring difference between today's gen v those of gen x and before is creativity. There's absolutely zero creativity anymore. From just daily life to music movies and wrestlers. Rebooted movies and tv, cover songs, wrestlers seem to not give a shit about their characters... In daily life art programs for kids either don't exist or just flat out suck....

I knew Bruce was going to say it was someone else's side about Rick Rude's gimmick, he always says that. I was waiting for that, never had a great idea in his life, just had guys like Lawler and Dundee, why even ask if it pains Bruce to give him credit, he always says, and always will say the same thing.

Rick would have been awesome during the attitude era. It was a perfect fit for his persona but that injury ruined it - it wasn't stings fault it was the ridiculous ring bumper thing. What the hell were they thinking!?
