Soooooo agree, WTH we don’t have to look like a grandmama from the 50s I’m 60 and I wear what I love, no matter if it’s in on trend or not, actually I’ve dressed the same forever of course becoming a bit more conservative because I haven’t had surgery lol. Rug if a life saver. Undergarments, essential if your a size 2 or 20. It’s a must have in your wardrobe. Good video ! Keep it up

I just found your videos! I love them! I’m 5’3”, weigh 130 and have an hourglass figure! It has been so hard to choose what to wear because about 3 years ago I went from 180# to 125 due to cancer. I’m better now, and am steady in my weight, but I have severe body dysmorphia. When I look in the mirror, I still see the woman who was 180#. I don’t have a local friend group to go shopping with, and so have had to figure it all out on my own. These videos help so much! I’ve started wearing shapewear in the last few months after my younger sister talked me into it! She started about 6 months ago the ago when she started carrying weight in her midsection, and it really does make a difference. There are so many choices, it can be hard to know what is best. My biggest “don’t” would be an all-in-one that includes thigh-shapers as you are up a creek without a paddle if you’re out to dinner and have to use the bathroom, as everything has to come off! I know some have a placket that you can use, but I’d never risk it! A one piece that doesn’t go down your thighs, that has snaps is okay, and can also double as a posture helper. Everyone just needs to figure out what is most important to them. There are also high-waisted pants (knickers) and thigh-shapers etc. as I said - lots of choices. I like the high-waisted pants - not too high! My biggest worry is the pooch below the bellybutton, and there are nice knickers that help with that and that make sure you aren’t just pushing up to create a muffin-top. In addition, you can also get ones that can help lift your behind! My behind has dropped a bit, so help in that area is appreciated! When I’m wearing a dress, I’ll sometimes wear a light thigh-shaper or bike shorts just to keep my thighs cool - if I’m out for a fancy evening, a high waisted thigh-shaper is just the thing, sometimes over a bodyshaper with snaps between my legs so I know I’m held in, but the size is small and a really good one is from Quince. It doesn’t look like it will be able to be got in, but once you do get it on, oh my! It is very nice and quite comfy! I hope this helps you on your way to researching! @@AnnieParkerConfidential I’m so sorry for your mom. Do send her my support! It is really just one foot in front of the other for us. I’m lucky in that while I’m considered stage IV, we were able to find a targeted treatment that doesn’t have too many side effects and should be able to be tolerated for another few years at least. I hope your mom is as lucky as I have been. UCLA saved my life. While I have moved to City of Hope for ongoing care as I actually have 2 completely different types of cancer that are best treated long term there, I will always be thankful for the critical care I got at UCLA.

The medical group makes ALL the difference. We’re with UCSD and it’s been a world of difference in terms of the plan, care level and expertise from Scripps (started there). As you say - one step at a time. I will remember that 💕💕💕

I don’t have tummy problems, but with my body shape jutting more out to one side due to rods in my back, I hate anything tight or even super fitted - it just looks odd to me. I love more empire type waists and then a light skim, as you said. I have a smaller build, but I feel claustrophobic in tight clothes…so I’d never be able to wear shape wear! 😀

The strategies for flattering body types and tastes are great. Was wondering if you could make a video just for flattering necklines? I am also petite hourglass and like to accentuate the girls without showing too much boobs/skin. What is the best for that? V-neck, split neck, round, neck, mock neck, boat neck… Live the Costa Enza top you recommend. Can you provide more options? Also,what kind of materials and embellishments are best in chest area? Hi Sally! My favorite silhouette is a Wrap because it naturally creates the ever-flattering V-neckline, while defining the waist. A Wrap also gives the ability to adjust the cleavage or coverage depending on the situation and/or your personal taste. It creates a long, vertical visual line which is always a good thing. The most flattering neckline depends on your body shape. For example, a boatneck isn't as flattering on an inverted triangle because the horizontal line emphasizes broad shoulders, but it works great on a rectangle. In general - the most universally flattering necklines are the V-Neck and Scoop. If trying to minimize the bust, steer clear of heavy fabrics, ruffles & embellishments in that area. If smaller busted - you can do all of that! I can definitely put together a dedicated video for flattering necklines ;-)

Shelli, Thank you for the quick reply. I’m so excited you wrote back! I’d love to have a video just about chest flattering outfits. Specifically, I’d like to emphasize the boobs without showing skin though I guess deemphasizing a large chest can be a concern as well for some women. I like to do so because I am a petite hourglass with a bit fuller hips (working on those saddle bags). I like to highlight my chest and upper body along with my waist to distract from the hip imperfections. And I hate the inevitable chest tan line from the SoCal sun even with high SPF and don’t want the sun damage either. Love the look of a chest emphasizing crew neck! I ordered the costa enza top because it looked so good on you. It was hard to find since discounted. You have such a good way of analyzing the structure of the outfits and why they work. Please add more currently available tops too!
