I’ve been a carpenter since I was 18 years old, fast forward 20 years and I’m pretty well over it. I’m getting my real estate license this year, although I will continue to take side jobs for the next couple of years as time allows. You’ve inspired me to make a move towards my future. Thanks Tyler. I really can’t even tell you how much this video and the others in this thread have inspired me to change directions.

I really appreciate hearing that! I have a newly licensed agent who I work closely with who is also based out of Michigan. He's in a similar position to you, starting in real estate on more of a part time basis but he's already gotten his first few deals closed in his first few months. If you'd like to connect further, I'd love to learn more about how I can potentially help you hit the ground running when you have your license in hand. Feel free to email me: roickit@gmail.com

Thank you for this video. It was very informative. I am looking to get my real estate license in Oklahoma. I was wondering if you could tell me or possibly make a video about how much taxes you had to pay back at the end of each year? Or give examples. Also, how much of each paycheck would be safe to put back for taxes, as well? I know each state is different, but if you could give a general idea. Thank you so much. You earned a subscriber.
@TexasRealEstate Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the idea and thank you for subscribing! It really depends on the tax bracket you're in. Typically real estate agents can write off a lot which helps reduce the % of our commissions we have to set aside for taxes. In my experience, it would be safe to set aside $1 in ever $5 worth of commission you earn for taxes. I hear people say 30%, but $1 out of ever $3 would probably be very conservative for most. Hope that helps!

Im an 18 year old student via Aceable. I’m just now wrapping up Principles of Real Estate 1. Im located here in Texas and my plan is to do farm and ranch sales as ive been around them my whole life. What are some steps i should take from now to getting my license? I want to be fully prepared when i enter the industry and aiming to get my broker’s license by 28.

That's awesome! Best thing you could do aside from getting your pre-licensing hours done as soon as possible would be to build you network. Beyond that, there's some additional resources I can share that would really help you hit the ground running in the best possible way once you have your license. Would a part time job be a good thing while doing real estate? Thinking about getting my license for multiple states.
@TexasRealEstate Жыл бұрын
Starting in real estate with a part time job is no issue, as long as you make the time to work on your real estate business. I'd start with the state you plan to be most present in initially. Depending on what you are wanting to do, there may be other ways to go about it than getting licensed in multiple states.

what were your strategies for finding clients? were they given to you by your broker?
@TexasRealEstate Жыл бұрын
Simple answer is have a lot of conversations. And the right brokerage will provide various avenues through which you can obtain more clients. There's plenty of more I could say to elaborate on in terms of both of those things. Feel free to email me so we can connect further: roickit@gmail.com

Thanks for the honest facts of your pre-tax income for each of the four years. I was elated and thanked God for getting you rolling from year two. I think a good way to start is as a side gig.....just so you have a full-time income to cushion and encourage the RE pursuit. Appreciate you doing an excellent job helping others who are contemplating getting into the profession.

1.4 million net to only 88k in your account!! If you flip houses while license does the broker get a cut of that money? Secondly when did you start flipping homes?
@TexasRealEstate Жыл бұрын
We're talking commissions, which are typically a % of the sales price such as 2.5-3% Flipping homes & representing clients / earning commissions are 2 completely different things. Brokers aren't typically in the business of flipping houses. I flipped a few houses between 2018 & 202 but today all my work is in the brokerage side of the business. I help licensed real estate agents build their careers, increase their sales & scale their based businesses.
