this tutorial was far more powerful than I thought it would be, this is awesome! I had no idea. I've been hand painting cracks and such, this is so much better!

Hello i am getting an issue where there is pixellation along all my edges in the low poly model. I have tried re-unwrapping with new seams, adjusting my ray and extrusion values, but every edge in my low poly model is super visible even the ones that are not seams. Do you have any recommendations?

I've figured out what the issue is, needed to set both high poly and low poly models to "Shade Smooth" before baking normal map. Thanks for the tutorial!

How to make this kind of environment? Like the environment we need in background of our animation like a girl talking to boy in. A living room so how to make that stylized living room. Please make a detailed tutorials on this kind of stuff. And the rocks are the same cool category that we want other stuffs to be.

This method is not recommended for creating game assets though because it creates ngons which is a big Nono since shading gets quite messed up by these. (Ngons are faces with more than 4 vertices) So you'd have to do lots of cleanup work to patch these up. I'd personally just create a high poly ball, shape it and use the decimate modifier to simplify them to a point where I like them

I am getting issues when trying to bake the normal maps, :/ i get this weird normal maps i dunno what i'm doing wrong T_T

@@Lowkey3d Texture baking works best if you only have quads or triangles in your mesh. This at least tends to be the most common source of errors for me. If you want a really "quick and dirty" solution for this, you can triangulate all n-gons (polygons with more than four vertices). If you go into Face mode in Edit, go to "Select -> Select All by Trait -> Faces by Sides". You should generally try to make your low-poly mesh consist of quads, but this method may also work for that part if you have any challenges with your topology.

but using that workflow you also get some Ngons, how do you fix that after decimation?

Overall great tutorial!😁 Never seizes to amaze me there are always new things I didn't know to learn from fellow artist. 💪 Small things like renaming using f2 or more neat tricks I've been using blender for 5+ year now and will recommend to everyone to now and then go through some basic tutorials. See wjat things are new and that, it's easy to get stuck in your own workflow, trust me😃 Keep up the good work bro!💪

For some reason the brushes don't work correctly for me. I installed them and they do show up in blender, but when i try to use the flatten brush it just doesn't really do anything except for lower the entire surface, but it doesn't flatten anything...

i followed everything up to the normals, but when i hide my high poly mesh the low poly UV mapping looks weird. like its shifted/misaligned. i also tried the smart UV unwrap.. any ideas?
@ALLTHEWORKS11
@ALLTHEWORKS11 Жыл бұрын
The UV maps should be same for both objects.. If you distort the geometry too much during sculpting, UVs may look weird.. Other than that it should work fine.

@@ALLTHEWORKS11 i THINK my issue was that my object is super small. the edges of the islands for my normal map appeared very thick/beveled and i believe that was causing my rock's corners to overlap. adjusting the extrude value to 0.02 seemed to correct this. when i crank up the normal map strength the issue comes back, which would seem to coincide with that. there may have been something else with the offset, but it seems to work better now. if this doesn't sound like it makes sense please let me know so i can be more thorough next time and not think that my solution actually worked.
