Lmao everyone's butthurt that Sty complimented this person and theyre all bashing him saying that he sucked. Sty is right, if this player fixed their target priority and stopped farming pulse off of the hog, then they would be way higher in rank. It's easier to see bad things than it is to see good things, because you just take them for granted. If you were to watch back your gameplay, you'd probably wonder wtf you were doing most of the time. That's why these people send in their videos to Sty, because they know they can improve, and they want to. They didn't do it so they can be made fun of by a bunch of randoms who think theyre better than everyone else.

Stylosa i believe he pulse bomb the dva mech so the baby dva wouldn’t be able to stall granted the fight was already won but streamers and pro tracers such as kragie have recommended just pulse bombing the mech to kill the baby dva since she can be so annoying haha!

100% this. D.Va contests for the entire animation which can be frustrating and allow another 2-3 seconds for the enemy to recontest. Pulse bomb is up what, every 45 seconds? If you can get a guaranteed quick kill, go for it. Especially when they are in Overtime

monochrowo mostly because he could’ve used to pulse bomb for a target with a much higher priority. A baby D.Va isn’t that hard to kill so I’d almost call it a waste of your ultimate. They even had a winston who could’ve taken her out in no time since her moblity isn’t that great against a cannon with auto-aim. The pulsebomb is capable of turning teamfights around so using it on a baby D.Va probably wasn’t the right choice in that situation.

I'm tired of people saying if you're good, you'll climb. That's not always the case. I climbed from silver to high plat throughout the seasons. Almost got diamond at one point. I honestly would have gotten diamond like 3 seasons in a row if it wasn't for bad teammates/throwers/leavers. I rarely play OW anymore and have no intention to go back so at this point I'm probably just getting worse now because of lack of playtime and interest. Oh well

Vajom use your movement as an sort of an aiming assistant instead of your mouse.Strafe around and let the enemy get on your crosshair instead of you aiming for them.Then it's just timing

Stop thinking you're good enough to be in a higher tier. Actually WORK TO IMPROVE. I am not good enough to be in Grandmaster. Here's the thing. He plays higher than what we think qualifies for gold but he has 5 teammates that need to contribute. You don't gain SR for playing good. You gain it for winning and playing greater than you play when you lose. If the game is rigged to try and keep you at 50% winrate it's going to be incredibly difficult for people to climb, especially if you have to flex, or your best Tracer doesn't fit the team comp, or someone locks Tracer before you.

Pulse bombing the destroyed Dva mech was actually a pretty nice move, it killed the mini Dva instantly after popping out of mech, preventing her from stalling the point and possibly getting back in mech later. Genius play, since she can't escape the animation.

Ofcourse you have to adapt as a high mobile hero to even make it possible for that Ana to hit you. It is risky ofcourse but it is how it is on that lvl of gameplay. Take this into consideration if you analyze gameplays.

It's still amazing how many people treat players below Diamond like they are trash in either game sense or mechanical skill. The vast majority of players are in gold and plat, ever occurred to you guys that there are a ton of good players mixed into this bag of randomness? Yea you can play very well, but you are just 1 out of a 6 man team, and when you get throwers, leavers, and genuinely bad players all the time then it doesn't really matter how good you are, you can still be amazing and stay stuck in your "low" rank. I played my way to high Diamond a few seasons ago, but dropped down to plat again due to inconsistent playtime - and I clearly see a lot of low and mid Platinum players who could play well in Diamond, but they are held back by elo randomness just like so many other good players. I've been called a smurf many times too though I always do my best and never threw a match to drop in sr.

I do get you. For most people it's just a bunch of minor mistakes here and there that keeps them from consistently carrying their games to victory, and thus rely a lot of random factors and luck, as well as team mates. I've met plenty people in Diamond who deserved to play in gold rank, and vice versa - so don't get offended by your friend when he calls you trash. Just look objectively at your own gameplay and try to improve, regardless of what anyone thinks :)

The player named puppy on their team was actually boosted to that rank. Reason I know is because I was playing on an alt in gold and they mentioned boosting the account owner to diamond. They were a tracer main and also played genji.

FurryDan not saying I don't agree with you I think he is definitely better than gold but imo high plat - mid diamond somewhere around there. His aim seems really good but his enemies movement isn't great and honestly a lot of things he does he won't get away with any higher rank. His enemies aim wouldn't be too great in gold in master he would die quickly a lot of fights due to his movement not being that great (although he definitely does not have gold movement for a tracer.) He also seems to struggle with target priority. I think if he improves his target priority and game sense at times he definitely has the potential to climb higher than where I said he should be.

Since he only has played at this rank he only knows the decision the enemies will make at this rank. FurryDan hes absolutely better than gold but he's not even close to masters level. He was consistently hooked by hog so his movement is sketchy at times and he goes in straight lines. He targets hog more than anyone else and wastes melees. I'm low diamond/high plat and I played tracer on my friend's account at gold and you feel invincible there. I'm terrible at tracer and I could carry a game down there.

This is what happens to me ALL the time, have anxiety and when it gets frantic at the end I start making terrible mistakes. The D.Va that got hooked, Tracer not noticing mercy coming behind to rez pharah and continuing to shoot Hog... all things I never do until I get flustered in a final team fight, then I start shaking, missing, and overall just falling apart at the keyboard.

It's not necessarily the fact that he has ONLY bad things to say about the guy, it's the fact that in most videos, whenever the player makes a bad mistake, it's like he's telling him he's bad. You see the title of this video, and instantly think, this isn't "coaching" this is him being penalised, because he's not a god tier tracer. I can see why people would want to submit their videos, but also why they wouldn't want to. I stopped watching this series a long time ago because I found myself hearing Sty saying "Woah woah, what the hell are you doing?" To me, and many other people, that is Sty almost being too harsh. Him coaching is him giving constructive criticism, so instead of saying "Why the hell did you do that?" He should be saying "What you should've done here is." I play a lot of Tracer and it wasn't until I actively tried to improve my Overwatch play that I started to realize how much I focused on tanks like the player in this video. These days, I actually say to myself, out loud, during fights, "F@#* the tanks." If I don't say that to myself every now and then, I fall back into the trap of farming tanks for ult when I could be killing supports for ult instead. Great video, Sty, as always.

When you said low masters I cringed because I was 3350 (I have been in diamond 3000+ since season 4) and had 2 bad day of games all solo q only and a losing streak down to 2400 and have NOT been able to get out of plat in the last 2 weeks because of hidden mmr now put me there and with 50% chance of matchmaking making it almost impossible to re climb back up if I can't get a 8-10 game win streak which is rare. Tracer player with 57% win rate is not enough to climb back up after those 2 days of bad games

If you really belong in diamond you should be able to get back very quickly. I was in low diamond for 3 seasons straight and never once dropped past high plat. Andrew James 1. XQC is a very popular streamer, and its very common for people to stream snipe and throw his games more than an avg. person. 2. You should stop playing and take a break after you lose around 3 games in a row, which he didnt do... because he is a streamer and cares more about entertainment than his SR. 3. Did he lose 750sr? (the OP went from 3000+ to ~2250) No. 4. Top 500 and the mid-ranks are extremely different environments, and its much easier to climb through gold and plat than Top 500, as gold and plat contains ~60% (i dont remember the numbers) of the population and top 500 and grandmaster contain the top 1%. 5. And is XQC still in masters? Of course not, he is a pro gamer and and can climb back easily. But you really cannot compare the two situations. XQC plays overwatch literally 12hours a day so of course his sr will fluctuate depending on whether he is having a good or bad day. But if your point that you're trying to make is that the matchmaker is trash, i have already agreed to that and I am not defending it.

Stylosa, this is very, very close to how I play Tracer at the same Elo as this person. I'm usually high platinum, this person I believe is too. This season, I've just got stuck at a rank where there are simply too many throwers or dumb teammates for me to climb. At gold, people don't know how to work with Tracers, so unless I solo kill every enemy I fight, they don't die. I mean, my stats right now are like 3 kills per death, but 2.67 solo kills per death. Kapish? I can't climb because I have to do EVERYTHING, and Tracer is not meant to do that much solo, she is too squishy to do that without being killed. If my tanks won't back me up ever, and my healers think they are DPS, it's over.

Haha yeah I think not, I queue with my friends and get 3000 elo matches and I play better. People have brains at that rank, the dive tanks work with you, and the healers do their jobs (mostly). It's where I play the game at team/ tournament level and I'm more used to it, but solo queue I can't break out of gold because of teams, pure and simple.

I know right? But I can't always play Tracer, t's gold so 3-4 DPS insta locks is the norm. I'm working on getting my Soldier and Pharah up to the same standard. My Zen is already Diamond level. refuse to play tank solo at gold because while I'm actually a tank main who can play all tanks but Zarya to a high plat/diamond level, often the healers at gold have no idea what they're doing, and when people see any tank at all, they lock all DPS so you are alone, without healing or coordination, and that's a lost game.

I have an 80% winrate on pharah but I never get to play her, I’m in low gold and I’m always forced to heal or tank, I have 3 hours on her in 70 hours this season. I’m too scared of getting banned for being a main. I do have to admit I probably should be high gold or mid tho, overwatch is my first keyboard and mouse FPS but comp is in such a bad state. Not claiming to be pro but I got high gold in my placement then at start of season I get paired with 1 tricks and leavers

Sometimes Sty sounds superior when he is talking about gold ranked players. Truth is, there are lots of really good players stuck in gold. I personally feel i could easily be a plat or diamond player, but i refuse to grind away with 5 dps and 1 healer. For the past 3-4 season, i do my useless placement matches, place in gold and switch right back to quickplay and arcade. Comp just isnt worth it.

You're all forgetting this was probably one of his best games. I'd say mid or maybe high plat at best, no more. But then again, as a Tracer player you can't go around the excuse that your teams let you down, because Tracer is one of the best solo carries. Yes, his tracking isn't half bad, but he makes really bad decisions and lacks a lot of knowledge on how to make the biggest impact with Tracer. Shooting Hog 80% of the time isn't how.
