Ok this new Cardfight is absolute fire. The thing i like the most about this episode is that, unlike the other series (which i did watch and enjoy btw), it first focuses on the characters, with the card game taking a step back, mostly looking like random things happening from an outsider's perspective, just like the main character. It definitely makes it look less like a toy commercial and more like a genuinely good anime. Pretty sure i don't need to mention that the art and animation is simply beautiful, so i'm here for all of this.

Woah... definitely a new feel of Vanguard. First episode already covering toxic positive emotional abuse, getting unwanted advances, actual violence and the fear of being led to a suspicious place by suspicious people. Definitely see some classic CLAMP style in there too! Lots of BLUSHING and open-minded gender boundaries. I still miss the classics that actually explained the skills and allowed you to gauge the flow of the game, but I must admit, the moment Daiji reached into the darkness and pulled a hand out... I had chills.

@@LordEyepatch That's true, but I did enjoy the game aspect of it too. In the original series, the gameplay still managed to carry the show, with Aichi and Kai shouting skills and ride chants. It was nice to see the flow of the game and how the units were envisioned, rather than just half-spoon-fed tidbits of what went on and we have to guess how they won. It's episode 2 and I can't even guess how Trickstar could have even won against a Magnolia deck even with double trigger. I mean, Yugioh and other TCG games focus on the play by play and still can be interesting, so I hope we can get to actually see gameplay instead of flashes and passing remarks about it.

Oh...my...gosh, when the second half came I was like...Mind Blown. The Animation was was AWESOME!!! and this is just episode 1 there's more action to come so LET'S GOOO!!! You know Yu-yu doesn't like crossdressing, right? That's kind of the whole point. His sisters pressure him into it and he has difficulty with being as assertive, so he can't say "no" to them. It's much more a character developmental starting point than a gimmick or statement.

Oh WOW! That was an Impressive start. The Sakuga Was Splendid, The Characters have a different more Teasing yet more Mature Chemistry. The ED was Amazing, The Animation is clean, The Ambient Music Really sells the Wonder and Intrigue leading up to the Cardfight. The new era begins and none of us know what's coming. I have loved every season of Vanguard but this feels the most fresh! Our crew is entirely new for the moment, even the planet Cray itself has changed drastically. However this pans out, everything is exhilarating, and I cannot wait for the story to unfold.
