Full service / rebuild of a S400 and Huma regulator.

Hi guys, different one for you here today just a full service and rebuild of a .22 S400 along with the Huma reg that's installed, the rifle has been left standing for a number of years now and is good need of a service. very pleased with the results. Thanks for watching.

Thanks for posting this got me through my first ever strip down and rebuild. The problem I had was not being able to unscrew the bottom end of the air cylinder. Tried heat on it but no good so left that part out

Possibly some in the future, to be honest the S400 series of rifles are some of the best out the box rifles on the market, I would go for the S410 if its in your budget and add a reg, either huma or lane, the huma one has some very detailed and nice instructions, they are good rifles though. Super video. The power increase could also maybe attributed to when you refaced the valve, presumably that made the valve stem protrude slightly more at the rear so hammer knocks it open a fraction more/longer? And I guess it reduces the pre-load on the valve spring.👍 PS S400 is a great rifle!

could you go a bit more in depth on resurfacing the valve plunger, i have resealed my aa410c twice, last time it got a reg installed, ligtened hammer, got it tuned to 20fpe with 16gr jsb and a 50 shots on a fill, stock it was 24fpe and 12 shots....but its leaking despite new orings, before i dunk it in the tub looking for bubbles...i would like to make sure valve is sealing correctly

@ 21:06 what did you mean by on the regulated guns you do this all the way in and on the unregulated you need to reset the pot to the correct position, this seems odd to me, that would suggest if that is not fully screwed in then you could leave your gun over 12ftb, is that correct, and if so wouldn't refacing the end of the valve affect this setting, i don't wont to put my gun over the limit i don't have a firearm certificate

Hi, When you first fitted the reg did you have to hone the cylinder bore or do any kind of prep to it so as to get a good seal with the reg body.

Brilliant tutorial, thank you. Can you help/ advise please? I have been given a very old s400 ckasic which is in bad shape, it has been very badly abused. Leaks everywhere, replaced all washers. Cocking lever is sticking and won't cock whe tightend back down, what is this? Any help would be appreciated 🙏 Thanks Barry

Hi, love watching your vids, very helpful, used your HW100 one to service my rifle, but onto my issue, I've recently got a 2nd hand Air Arms S410, it is a newer gun as in the anti tamper seem a bit different, I got them out but there appears to be one on the block holding the air gauge, but main issue is the 5mm bolt at back cover where hammer spring is, I can not budge it so I'm guessing that it has thread lock on it, any suggestions other than heat to remove it? Feel if I put heat on it it will damage fins on trigger housing, had it in a vice with protection round the housing but not want to move, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Cheers.

what i do in sensitive areas is put a soldering iron on the bolt itself so the heat gets down the treads, you do have to keep it on for a fair time but i have had good success like this

Hi, great video. I've just received a seal kit from Air Arms - S701 - for my S410. Why do the seals you refer to have different numbers to AA's ones on the they use?

My S400 is getting difficult to cock so I think the hammer rail may need cleaned and lightly oiled. The cocking rail also is suspect so very light litheum grease as don’t want grease near breech. I will also have to remove anti-tampers covering the action hex bolts but I have set of left hand drills so should be ok if I am careful ! Anybody have any useful tips ? I was going to send the gun south to a gunsmith via rfd but would cost me £70 for the shipping alone! I am retired business machine engineer so should be able to fix it myself and have the tools, fingers crossed!

Depends, you wont gain any accuracy, but you will get a flatter shot curve, and a few extra shots, but if your happy with it I personally don't think they need a reg. Thanks for watching.

I have the s400 classic, and when I pump air in it, the air escapes out of the barrel as fast as I pump it in. I replaced all the seals thinking that it will fix the problem. Any help will be appreciated.

Hi there may I ask a question. I have a mk1 wildcat, when filled to 230 bar it shoots about 80 to 90 like a laser it's pressure then is 150 bar and it shoots slightly high ( I assume its coming off the reg ) is 150 bar reg pressure high for sub 12 and is 80 ish shots about right? Regards phil

150 bar sounds too high for a sub 12 reg although some tuners increase reg pressure in order to get better accuracy, 80 shots does sound very low for a wildcat, a .177 should get over 150 easy, but if your reg pressure is set high that will be limiting your shot count. Thanks for watching
