Literally the only person to make Takuji snap out of his delusions in the end without trying. Man, I so love Kimika.

I keep coming back to this months later. As emotionally devastating as this scene was, it is probably my favourite in the story. Characters doing the absolute wrong thing for very understandable reasons. Takuji finally snapping out of it and showing Kimika love as his final act was tragically beautiful. I never thought i would cry over Takuji, but here i am 😭

It's sort of beautiful and sad in a way that it's Kamika that really snaps Takuji out of his delusions and brings him back to his senses. Takuji was so isolated and lonely that he truly did think of himself as barely a human, and that his pain and suffering was his to bear alone, and it wasn't until Kamika opened up to him that he was able to realize that that way of thinking is poisonous, and that there's no reason why there shouldn't be value in a life where you try to strive to live as happily as you can. It was Kamika opening up to him that made him realize that every single thing he spent the entire chapter worrying about and stressing about was a complete load of shit, and the only thing that mattered was doing what he could to be happy. The fact that Takuji doesn't kill himself because of his delusions, but instead makes the conscious choice to jump with Kamika and embrace her in a final act to achieve happiness, made me lose it. DTRHII's ending monologue got to me a little bit, but the fact that in this ending we see Takuji's hopes to have his world overlap with someone else's come to fruition absolutely broke me.

I still wish Kimika would have killed Satoko and Megu in this ending. Well I'm not a fan of Takuji so I prefer Insects Kimika ending over this. It's also just an amazing route which makes you have fun. Also I just don't see Takuji and Kimika like that. Kimika's special one is Zakuro and always will be.
@rever987 жыл бұрын
Actually, if you think about the structure of romance in this game and the significance of endsky 2 along with the footprints in the sand and the sunflower hill, you realize that Hasaki's relationship with Mamiya is reincarnated into all the pairings in the VN. Someone is being carried during their tough time, and someone is doing the carrying, in this case it is Mamiya carrying Kimika, in insects it was Kimika/Mamiya carrying Zakuro, and Zakuro carried Yuki in RH1. If you really thought hard about it, you would also realize that all humans are reduced to the same element upon death, and are produced by the same element as well. The reincarnation of this relationship is what's special, not necessarily one set of characters IMO since, speaking from a buddhist perspective we are all one, and our soul passes on to the next after expiration. (I made this really vague to reduce as many spoilers as possible)

@@rever98Well said. I'm glad there are people who understand the deeper meaning in this work.

@@FuIIDiveVR lol thanks, Subahibi is one of those works that really changed my perspective on the world. I actually have tons more analysis buried somewhere deep in my computer, but I no longer have a reason to post it unless I decide to make a review about it. While I think Subahibi is profound and intricately plotted the core theme is quite simple really, but Sca-ji's argument for ”幸福に生きよ” is so damn persuasive I can't think of any reason to refute it. What really brings out the success in his work is Sca-ji's ability to make his profound ideas accessible for the readers. I'm sure a lot of people do discuss Subahibi in greater depth, just not on KZbin.

@@rever98 can u tell me in depth about this VN I would so love to read it I am extremely interested . I have read it and want to know it in as much detail as possible .
@rever984 жыл бұрын
@@avdool3859 If that's the case I wish you hadn't read my comment and just read the game since subahibi is best experienced without knowing too much about it. While it's a really beautiful story you have to put up with some really ugly parts, for example, long bullying scenes, rape, suicide and drugs, and drugged sex. Subahibi is a game about death. It comes from a place in the author's heart that everyone has experienced, or will experience in their life. What's amazing about it though, is that it offers a complex philosopher's ideas in a way that is really easy to understand. Well, maybe not everyone will think so, but compared to Tractatus logico philosophicus, it's a walk in the park. I shouldn't say anymore, but after reading subahibi, I feel more human. The theme "live happily" is done so well, and is so layered that any other work that tries to copy it will just be a shadow.
