just installed on my 2017- 225/65/17 on factory wheels, no lift and no rubbing, no removal or trimming. ride is far better than 55s and seems to handle rough roads extremely well.

Not like many would use chains on an AWD vehicle it would be good to note that is no longer an option. Love your videos!
@EXPLORISTlife5 жыл бұрын
Yeah, chains are definitely a no-go at this point with no trimming.
@beevo4124 жыл бұрын
@@EXPLORISTlife I would suggest that IF chains are seasonally a requirement - or even occassionally - that a backup set of rims and tyres in the garage would be an investment. The reduction in ground clearance would probs not stop you from getting to the ski chalet...

Thank you very much for this video! I have a 2017 Subaru Crosstrek with a 2/2.5 inch lift with spacers. Your video confirmed for me that i could fit the same size tire A/T on the stock rims and the ride quality has been amazing! Fortunately i didnt have to remove the front mud/splash guard as there was no rubbing there. Again a big thank you and all the very best on the complete build! Will be watching and cheering from the other side of the screen. 😊

Our summer tires have an offset on them. Winter tires we didn't want to be any wider so they fit in the snow ruts better.

Do you need to reprogram the speedometer now since the tyres are bigger?

I live in Canada, there's alot of snow that builds up arround the wheels. With so little clearance, the tires will be sand down by the ice snow gravel . Was it worth the small height gain?

With an extra 2" of diameter that will add about 6" of distance per rotation or about 20%. How are you planning on compensating for the change in speed and odometer readings? or just not bother...
@EXPLORISTlife5 жыл бұрын
Probably won't bother, at least for a while. May change it eventually but I historically haven't worried about changing it on our other lifted vehicles.

How do I trim I got the same size tire rubs a little in the front in reverse I try to baby it but where my drive way is I have to back out fast
@SteveCChapman5 жыл бұрын
Not sure how but don’t you need to check tire clearance when the suspension is under compression load as in a corner? Dodge recently had to issue a recall when they realized their tires they were putting on their Challengers were too large and were being shredded against the steering knuckle. Yikes!
@EXPLORISTlife5 жыл бұрын
We did check that as well. It was just nearly impossible to show that on video. We just drove 2k miles on it and the only time it rubbed was on a REALLY big dip in the interstate at 80mph.
@ROgletree5 жыл бұрын
Good video. I too think they will rub with suspension travel. What’s going on the roof rack? Tent?

They don't rub as of driving on them for 3 weeks. If they do we will trim as necessary.

Do you know if lift and tires would work on a 2010 Subaru Outback And how much is the total cost
@EXPLORISTlife5 жыл бұрын
I'm sure Rough Country has a lift for the 2010 outback, but I don't know that this one specifically, would fit.

So these tires are the same if I were to put 235/75/15 on mine right? I input the numbers on the tire size calculator and your tire set up is 28.5 inches tall and my future set up would be 28.9 inches tall. People say it would require a TON of trimming but I literally just witnessed you not doing almost anything for them to fit o:
@EXPLORISTlife5 жыл бұрын
The difference of 28.5 and 28.9 is nearly a half inch; so there would be more rubbing as tolerances on ours is pretty tight. Also; 235 is going to be a centimeter wider. So; although a small difference, is still a difference nontheless.
@LukeAMcDowell2 жыл бұрын
Crazy how those tires would have fit fine with no lift.
@din19035 жыл бұрын
Those suckers are going to rub, sorry. You need to account for suspension travel but you will figure that out soon enough. Good video quality though :)

@@EXPLORISTlife Something about the AWD system is looking for a specific rotation of the tire. If it's too big or too small itll think its slipping or stuck and reroute power.
@EXPLORISTlife5 жыл бұрын
Gotcha; but not really... the traction control system is looking for an uneven rotation of the tires. So... if my right front tire turns two times and my right rear tire turns only once; it's going to see that the right front tire is slipping and will apply the brake/cut power from that tire.
