SUBARU DRIFT BUILD |9| First drive and finishing bits

In this episode of Dirtcheapdaily, Aaron gets the drift wagon put back together enough to drive it!
We fill everything up with fluids, swap the front brakes, lower the front, and get the exhaust back on.

@Dirty looking at doing the same exhaust stuff how did you go with a new one? Was it raspy over 2.5k rpm? Any fixes? Going to do a turbo manual build soon. Also how many hours give or take to manual swap it?

Awesome! love the build. How hard do you think it would be to 5 wrx transmission or 6 speed STI transmission in my 3.0 Outback? Are you running on the auto ECU?

Levi Betz it’s the 2000-2004 model yea it has 4eat but like wiring is what I’m curious about like what do u half to do to trick the auto ecu to thinking the auto is still there but even though it’s a manual trans

depending on where you live, if it doesn't matter if you have an engine light for inspections, then it's easier than manual swapping a 2.5 in my opinion. I just pulled the TCU out, and left the electric shifter box (that usually bolts to the 4eat) plugged in and zip tied in the engine bay with it set in neutral. I don't have any issues with it and that's how I'm running it. That and the little splice for the key lockout solenoid.

The second radiator in the front? Is it for engine cooling? And how did you connect it?

Oil Cooler. It's a kit I think. Not sure where the feed lines attach from but it had problems overheating when he first got it. You'll see hoses coming out of the grill on some drift cars. that's what that is.

no problem! The revs were just from a vacuum hose in the engine bay I forgot to plug back in.
