Yes! We travel a lot and when the interstate comes to a screeching stop, these babies can save you from being crushed by a semi coming from behind you. Here’s a hot tip: I replace wiper blades often…. Just found these on Amazon. They match original manufacturer ones and are around $25 for all 3 blades. AUTOBOO 26"+17" Windshield Wipers with 14" Rear Wiper Blade Replacement for Subaru Forester 2019 2020 2021 -Original Factory Quality (Pack of 3) a.co/d/b8Lchch Darn, I should have made a video. Next time!😂👍

Thanks Dan. I just picked up my 2020 forester and I had these exact signals in my wrx and love them. I didn’t know how to get that plastic piece off. Great video! I also installed auxito reverse lights they are hella bright too! Give them a shot

I have had to replace two of them….. Being retired we travel a lot. Having the intense bright emergency flashers is worth having them. The company replaced one. I replaced the second on my own. We love the Forester model. The Isuzu manufacturing plant for North America is where we live. However the Forester isn’t made here. I’m already at 74,000 miles! I’d like to to trade up but none to be found…. Sorry to ramble on….. I will give those back-up lights a try on my next Subaru! Maybe a Pilot, they are made here 😁

@@BoilerDan1 I am big on Subaru’s made in Japan I had my 15 wrx for 200,000km beat on it every day and it owed me nothing but reliability. I will only buy Subarus made in Japan. My sisters have new Hondas and hate them nothing but problems. I work at a VW dealership I see lots of problems. I’ve noticed a huge difference in quality of vehicles made in Japan compared to Mexico USA and Canada. I’ll always stick to my Japanese made vehicles

I think I totally agree with you. I do all my own maintenance and have never had any issues. I even changed the spark plugs in my 2016 Forester. Quite the challenge for a “non-mechanic person 😂. Another interesting observation. We drive from Indiana to Florida several times every year for the past few years. I’ve seen just about every make of car broken down along the side of the road…. But not one Subaru 👍👍

Awesome video. You haven't done one on the reverse lights attached to the tail gate by any chance?
@BoilerDan12 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Sorry, I haven’t changed the reverse back up lights to LEDs. I’ve discovered that although brighter looking at them directly, they don’t seem to project light as well as the factory bulbs. It’s difficult to explain…. I did the brake lights on my earlier model Forester however the 2020 Forester has LEDs in a casing that is unit and not single replaceable bulbs. Thanks for watching! 👍

These same lights also fit in front (2020 forester). I bought a pair of plug and play load resistors and they work just fine. On the plus side, no more amber parking light. Don't need them anyway as the DRLs are always on. But the plugs that come with the load resistors kinda fit in the oem housing. I'll see if they hold up.
@BoilerDan1 Жыл бұрын
I’m upgrading to the 2023 Forester! I’ll try adding the resistors. I’ve been very happy with them on the rear lights. Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts.👍

@@BoilerDan1 Very nice, congratulations for your 2023 forester. Just be aware the harness doesn't fit as nicely as the oem plug, you have to find the sweet spot where it is stuck and no longer moves. It doesn't lock into place like the oem plug, it just gets stuck. On the 2020 anyway ;)

@BoilerDan1 u still own those oxilam 7440 amber led bulbs, now that’s been 2 years so far? No hylerflash still? Still functions well as it should?
@BoilerDan14 ай бұрын
I’ve since traded that Forester in for another Forester. I do recall that if the turn signal is on for a long period of time, it did start to hyperflash. They are also extremely bright and my wife convinced me to not install them in my current Forester because when you open the tailgate at night they flash twice and it’s painful on the eyes…. Yes, they are that bright! Definitely gets the attention of drivers behind you on the interstate, day or night. Thanks for watching, hope it’s been informative.👍👍
@toyotabrony4 ай бұрын
@@BoilerDan1 there’s better options u can get for less bright. Try Auxito amber led 54H. 5.5W. Not as bright as with a built in resistor with 24W. But still brighter than stock. And it’s more refined super bright.
@BoilerDan14 ай бұрын
@toyotabrony Thanks for the info. I’ll check it out….. maybe on my next one. I’ve been driving about 30,000 miles a year and like to trade in at the 80,000 - 90,000 mile range. But I will look them up and maybe put on my Christmas list 😎👍👍
@BoilerDan14 ай бұрын
@toyotabrony I looked them up, but said that they won’t fit the 2023 Forester model 😞
@toyotabrony4 ай бұрын
@@BoilerDan1 they always said that. Just because it says on the info, doesn’t mean it’s true. Check ur incandescent bulb to see what bulb size u have. If it’s a 7440. It’s a 7440. If it’s 3157 it’s a 3157. Those 54H led amber I mention needs either load equalizer resistor or led flasher relay. Or if u want a plug and play version load equalizer resistor. Look up alla lighting - resistor plug and play version.

@@BoilerDan1I survived lots of surges and ER trips over 20 years on the street. Good times (mostly) lol. And yes, times have been changing for the worse. My fear is so many have been run out of it, or given up on it that it’ll take a long to ever recover. A lot going in these days aren’t the same caliber as ones from 20-30 years ago either. It’s almost open season to be combative. I agree with most good people will choose another profession…. Kinda sad….. I was the tail end of the stereotype “Doughnut eating cops” and I still have the belly to prove it 😂. 16 years on 11-7 night shift . Best times ever! Nights, you watch people, days people watch you! Thankfully I was out before cellphone cameras were everywhere…. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not the aggressive type. Anyway, keep up the good fight and be safe. Oh, good eye! I did blur my plate, but the tag was there. Maybe so you would write and I could thank you for still being there!👍👍

Yes, I agree with your observation. Being retired, we travel quite a bit and on the interstate when traffic suddenly stops, I want the traffic behind me to know (Especially Big Semi’s!) that I’m stopping! I’ve observed in my rear view mirror when I put on my emergency flashers that the brightness gets there attention way back behind me….. We’ll worth a little discomfort to let them know that there’s stopping traffic ahead! Matter of fact, I’m heading to south western Florida in the morning 😎🏝! Thanks for watching 👍👍

Wow I have a 21 Forester and I bought error free LEDs and they hiper flashed . I had to put resistors in mine. 👍 Nice. Did u change your front too?
@BoilerDan12 жыл бұрын
I didn’t change the front ones. Since retirement, I’m traveling quite a bit. I’m very impressed with the brightness and they definitely get noticed when traffic comes to a halt on a busy interstate! We love our 2020 Forester. They made it a little bigger than the previous model. I am starting to think that mine do hyperflash when the turn signal is active for a couple of minutes…. But I just click off and back on….. but adding a resistor is probably a good idea 👍 Thanks for watching 👍👍

Where could I order a Lens com left side back for a 2022 forester limited, without going through the dealership.

Only place that I found was this website. A hint! I put something in my cart but didn’t order it. After a couple of days they sent me a promotional code to get 10% off my order. I think I set up an account too, but I don’t remember for sure. I get emails every once in a while from them. Here’s their website: www.subarudirectparts.com/?gclid=Cj0KCQjwnf-kBhCnARIsAFlg493Y6oJRkrJoC1a904v1ry55FQDQFhzuh3ba9pKe43nYMAMc9XLgNgcaAhMQEALw_wcB The prices were better than my local dealership.

I think the 2022 lenses may be different. You’ll need to check with the lamp seller to confirm fit. I know that the brake lights are a complete unit. Have to replace the entire unit.

Are they still working or did you have to change them? Thank you.
@BoilerDan1 Жыл бұрын
Yes, still working! I drive a lot: 85,000 miles on the 2020 Forester that they are in. I think the vehicle has a setting that has them blink fast after a couple of minutes…. It only happens when I’m at a very long turn lane , I think all vehicles do that. Probably thinking you accidentally have left it on. They are extremely bright, but as I have said before: I want attention if I hit the flashers when the interstate comes to a halt…. Definitely does that 👍

@@BoilerDan1 I just installed them :) Took less than 20 minutes to change all 4 turn signals. It was a lot easier than I thought it would be. Just got to be careful removing the rear units, I broke a small plastic part removing the unit on the right rear corner but I was able to reinstall it no problem. The front ones are a joke to be honest, unplug the old bulb, plug in the new one. Thanks for your video, without it I wouldn't even would have dared to try. Oh, and they're bright. If you look directly at them from a close distance it will leave an imprint in your vision.

I’ve mastered the removal of the rear cover! Sorry I didn’t show it more as maybe I could have helped you not snap that piece off…. @@BoilerDan1 update: all lights don't hyperflash when using the 4 ways, although when the car is running they hyperflash. I have removed the front leds, and put the old ones back and it stopped hyperflashing. They are insanely bright which is perfect during the day but very, very bright in the dark. Also, after leaving for work the driver side was hyperflashing and the passenger side was fine. I contacted oxilam via amazon, waiting for a response from them.
