It's a joke on the full title of the original Gundam which is Kidou Senshi Gundam or Mobile Warrior (translated to Suit in the west) Gundam. The word for contraceptive (Hininhou) sounds like kidou while Comdom sounds like Gundam. The funnier joke is that gundam-themed condoms do or did exist before.
