This vid was extremely helpful, I wish I had found this one sooner. I ended up rounding a sway bar link due to extreme rust on my car, but now I know I can do the bushings when the time comes. Thanks to you!

This is EXACTLY what I needed, man. Have the same car and already did the jdm Spec B driveline swap. Time to get low!

I like that you mentioned the hardware store but chose oem bolts. Im the same way. Flangged bolts look better and give me more confidence lol

Great tutorial doesn't seem too difficult at all. Going to potentially do that swap on my legacy GT soon. If not, the trailing arms do need replaced. So this is at least a good video to see how the work is done.

You happen to know the torque specs for everything? Also besides axle sockets. Any other specialty tools?
@SWSpeedCo3 ай бұрын
I get my torque specs from the factory service manual. I just downloaded a copy from one of the forums and it's really good to have because at the beginning of each section there I an exploded view of all the components with the torque specs and there is all the instructions to disassemble everything. And there shouldn't be any special tools needed

Hopefully doing mine soon. I'm going back in time on your vids, but hoping to see something soon from you.

Do you have part numbers for the bolts and trailing arms? Amazing video btw edited and shot super well
@SWSpeedCo2 жыл бұрын
Thanks, glad you liked the video! The part number for the bolts is 901000285, the trailing arm part number is 20252AG031, and 20252AG021. The trailing arms are very expensive new so it would be best just to find some used ones on the forums or ebay.

@SWSpeedCo8 күн бұрын

idk if you have done them but the spec b front lca's are an awesome upgrade on the front as well

Haven't done those yet, but I might do it next time I have my front suspension apart

Great video. I ended up buying the Whiteline trailing arm bushings after watching your last video. I'm in the middle of stripping all the control arms off my '05 LGT I have all the bolts cracked except the inner bolt on the top control arm on the drivers side. Broke my breaker bark tonight. Soaked it down and will try again tomorrow. Any tips/ pointers? If I can't get it to move, I'm taking a sawzall to it next.
@SWSpeedCo2 жыл бұрын
I've had to use a Sawzall before, I would recommend a 1/2 drive breaker bar because they are alot harder to break. You can't really fit a impact in there so that would be your best bet

Does this center the wheel in the wheel well? Lowered my wagon and the rear wheel is pushed forward
@SWSpeedCo11 ай бұрын
It helped a little bit, not nearly as close to the front as it was. If it's an outback and you want to really fix it you need to remove the subframe body spacers and convert the other stuff to legacy gt suspension.
@Slwboi_zn611 ай бұрын
Gotcha I have the legacy gt and I can’t find anything about anyone having that problem with it centering the wheel but I’ll keep digging
@SWSpeedCo11 ай бұрын
If it's a legacy gt that is probably where it is going to have to stay. If you upgrade to adjustable control arms you can fix the toe which as a result may bull the wheel back slightly

Where'd you get the torque specs from for the front trailing arm bushing bolts and the bolts for the bracket connects it to the body of the car? I've found some specs but the specs, part to part, are different from page to page.
@SWSpeedCoАй бұрын
I usually find all of my torque specs from the factory service manual because it is easier for me to look It up there than online and I'm 100% sure of the accuracy

Is this a worthwhile upgrade? Have you also upgraded the sway bars?
@SWSpeedCo Жыл бұрын
It's not something I think is super noticeable but theoretical it will make your car lighter and handle better
@SWSpeedCo Жыл бұрын
Them main reason I did it was because I needed to replace the bushings anyway so I thought I might as well upgrade the trailing arms while I'm in there

What brake lines are those?

They are stoptech braided stainless brake lines for 05 to 09 legacy gt
