Your Sambar videos have been really helpful; valve cover gasket & valve adjustment, timing belt/water pump change, and now ignition tune-up. Camera's always well-placed. Much appreciate you providing part numbers too. Thanks very much!

Sounds good. Love how you show part numbers. I got a 96 Dias s coming so I’m getting ready by learning as much as I can about the mechanics of these things. Thanks from north Texas

Love the videos, just a question or two though. How sustainable is it driving the sambar at 120 kph for any period of time. From what you've seen of the engine do you think it's possible to do a ej22 or a TSI EA211 motor swap with out having to do cut outs on the truck bed. I'm not looking for a race car, I'd just like to confidently drive out to my parents place. I checked some enthusiasts websites but I didn't find what I was looking for. Sorry if they aren't good questions, just figured I would ask someone who would know.

Hello MrSubaru, my rear axle (drivers side) needs to be changed. I have clunking noise especially on turns ans sometimes even just stopping makes a clunk. I looked and could see some play right where the axle is going into the casing that has the wheels and brakes on it (sorry, i dont know the exact term). Should I change both rear axles or just changing the one that is problematic good enough? Thanks for your time Edit : I lifted the other side and have no play at all when gtabbing the wheel at 3 and 9 and trying to move it. It stays solid (no movement at all) but the side I hear the clunking noise, I can move the wheel.

I love the NGK wires. I would have put anti seize on the plug threads. That Sambar is very cool.
@MrSubaru1387
@MrSubaru1387 3 жыл бұрын
Well you'd have been wrong. NGK specifically states to never use anti-seize on their plugs.

The vast majority of spark plug manufacturers advise against using anti-seize now.

Got some questions...I just bought today a 1990 Subaru Sambar Mini van (Supercharged) KV4 right at 50,000 Kilometers. It looks brand new inside and out (1 owner) and runs beautiful. Has new timing belt and tensionor, new AC/Alt belt and new right rear engine mount. No rust anywhere on this. What spark plugs, wires, rotor are needed? Differ on the supercharger model? And could you do a video pointing out the firing order and wire orientation? What is the firing order by the way? Much appreciated, Jim One other thing, On my engine there is what appears to be a small condenser can mounted on the valve cover right where the ground braid cable is attached. I don;t see this on yours. Any idea why?

Hey, thanks for the video. 15.5ft/lbs, 21 N.m. torque for the plugs? I can't find that info anywhere for my Sambar KS4 carb truck. The NGK box for my RX plugs say 25-30 N.m.

Does the rotor have to be put on a specific way or is it just a certain shape and will only go in one way? I haven’t ordered one yet so I’m not sure since I haven’t seen it physically
