Bro it's crazy, this arc has stronger buuld up than most action shounen arcs. A big cast, all with relevant or logical fights. And we genuinely want to see and care about all fights. Fantastic arc structure.

@nexus2691 of course it has good buildup, they just deleted out of story the existence of Reinhard for 8 episodes, when he just can come and one shot every one of them, but no let's continue Subaru's sufferings. When you add some kind of abnormaly strong character to your verse, you should know how to deal with him or your story will end up like One Punch Man when Saitama was absent for 90% of the arc and just come to the last battle. So don't say that this arc has better buildup than other shonens, maybe isekai but not shonen.

An important detail that was excluded from the anime is that before Subaru arrived in the world, Kurgan was murdered by Regulus. Regulus invaded a fortress in the Empire, killing everyone who violated his rights, which included Garfiel's new foe, Kurgan. The author was asked how Regulus could kill him, and he replied that fighting Regulus for Kurgan was like trying to beat a metal Mario with no time limit lol

It's really cool seeing how, in the last episode during his speech, Subaru said that he wanted to tell the girls he loves that they look more beautiful when they are smiling... while Regulus says that his wives aren't allowed to smile...
