Re Zero Starting Life in Another World Season 2 Episode 10 has Subaru makes calculated & bold moves. You can almost say too bold at this point. Its apparent that he's slowly become detached from life as he used Return By Death, but after Echidna telling him Return By Death has no limits. It seems its caused Subaru to truly lose more of his humanity. He was willing to confront Garfiel & risk everything just to figure out how his mind worked. Also why did Satella cry for Subaru? He is an Tokugawa's period (1780) ex-law enforcer/samurai for a minor daimyo that he killed for being corupt and making him kill people that actually were innocent, being Hunter down for that and known for killing alone 100 other police following his escape during this hunt, including his, unknown to him till too late, sister's husband - that's why she went retarded. He was turned into an Immortal by legendary buddhist nun Yaobikuni a little before that undortunate kill and has to atone for the 100 good men he killed by killing 1000 evil men. She breaks this accord with him and promises to release him from the curse of immortality. He can reatach any limb and close any hole on the brain no matter how long passes since the wound was struck or after how long he has separated from the limbs cut, all cuz of "bloodworms", worms that regenerate small portions of flesh and reconnect his limbs, and that can only be killed by a rare tibetsn poison. He crosses path with Rin Asano, a descended of dojo that was destroyed by the rival dojo Itto Ryu when she was chilf, during which she experienced his father murder and her mother's rape violation. She is on a Hunt for vengenace and asks him for help since she is only 16 and weak. The story followes such hunt. It's pretty dar interesting and I think sadly forgotten and underappreciated. I mentioned him cuz your comment about Musashi reminded me of It, since they are both mangas that I need to finish lol

Subaru detaching himself from death was actually foreshadowed in the opening as well. The Kanji that is displayed around the end of the opening (as I'm sure a few people already know) is "If it's to save them, I don't care how many times I die." which hinted at this current development. Just saying though, that kind of Martyr Complex will wear on anyone just as much as anything. I foresee another crash in the future.

This episode was pretty good. Even though there was a lot of content not included in this episode like the beatdown Subaru got from Satella, it was still delivered nicely. Subaru got a lot of balls, but then again for someone who experienced death more time than Kenny from South Park, it will be pretty hard to scare Subaru now lol. You could say that Subaru was testing Garfiel, but then again you could also say that Subaru now realized the extent of Return by Death and after suffering so many deaths, Subaru is now unfazed especially when Garf threatens him. There is one more messed up death that I am looking forward to. I am itching to see how the third messed up death will be animated. Now........it continues. I’m literally in love with this series, after this season I don’t think I can wait for a season 3 so I’ll probably read. Chibi you’re reviews are so amazing. "I'm going... to save you." It's a call-back to the first episode, except I don't think it's even a call-back. I think it's more like a forgotten memory that only Satella has available. When Subaru was at the convenience store, you hear the exact same words, AND he repeats those words again at his first death. IF that even was his first death. Okay, so I'm thinking that he had teleported to the other world, he met Emilia and, like in the first episode, he died wanting to save her. That's when Satella would come in and they would make a contract. A chance to save Emilia and everyone Subaru loves as she wants something in return. And so they form the contract, she sends him back to the inconvenience store, with no memory of anything that has happened and that's where Re:Zero actually started.

I have found a spanish streamer that is a novel reader. SPOILER. When subaru revealed RBD, this made satella try to show, but was imposible, and she found emilia next to subaru, so she possed emilia body. So the Satella we see in the anime in the last episode, is using Emilia body. Thats why when Subaru awake, Emilia is not next to him.

This was probably my favorite episod of the season so far, possibly top 3 for the whole show: -the beginning scene „inside“ of Satella with the callback to rems confession in episode 18 and the "the number 1 and 2 places in my heart are already taken“ -Subaru showing his human side again with Emilia that just shows that he does get affected by all that’s happening -Subaru actually calmly thinking everything through and figuring out the best way to handle the situation instead of letting his emotions take over and run through it -I don’t know if I just took it for granted and didn’t notice much until now but I loved all of Subaru’s inner monologues to see how he comes to the decision he makes (these two points earn a lot of points in my book for character development) -More lore and world Building with the Ryuzu and Apostle of greed stuff -the scene with Emilia in the forest at night was just amazing through and through -the little bits of humor sprinkled through the episode with Ram, Otto and Petra at the end -„Insane“ Subaru testing and making his intentions clear to Garfiel was badass af, he’s already more and more on his way to become one of my favorite protagonists currently „I do know. I know hell, I’ve seen it many times already. I’m the only one who needs to know hell, that’s what I’m here for“ Voice acting going strong as always damn, this episode was perfection

Ngl, Garfiel’s skinny hands made me cringe. But in all seriousness, Subaru is ready to give his life to save anyone, wether sacrificing it for information or anything else, which what will bring him demise and extreme sadness. Ep 12 will be one of the best ep this season if my assumption was true and they make that Subaru will appreciate his life more. Spoiler : After suabru death in this new loop, Echidona will summon him to the dream world, They’ll have a chat about RBD and Envy gets super mad that she enters the dream, But instead it was Satella(Witch of envy has 2 personalities: Envy and Satella). Echidona requests to make a contract with Subaru but the other witches intervene to stop it from happening. It seems that Echidona was faking her emotions and in fact, a coldhearted with that will do anything to gain knowledge. Satella will offer her hand to Subaru, and now he’s between 2 choices: Make a contract with echidona and suffer, or take satella hand and appreciate his life more. As you guessed, Subaru chose Satella and managed to ovecome all the obstacles and had a happy ending. If you wanna know what would happen if he made the contract, watch Re zero Greed Route

My jaw was literally dropping the entire episode. I’ve been a little disillusioned with the last few episodes as I felt nothing was happening/ it was getting really slow. Still enjoyed the episodes thoroughly, but they felt a little out of place. This episode was a complete 180. It was exhilarating even when they were having simple conversations. This is the Re: Zero I’ve been missing and I’m so excited to see more!

I would argue that he is not losing his humanity in general, but is embracing a noble sense of stoicism in the face of the inevitable. Enduring pain and difficulty without complaint is a tenet of that philosophy. "The school taught that virtue, the highest good, is based on knowledge...", and he seeks knowledge and uses what he knows to the fullest. Knowing that his return by death has no limit has simply freed him mentally. I'm definitely over-simplifying, but what do you think?

Another big change I've seen in Subaru is the fact that he isn't obsessed with getting people to understand what he's been through. He's strangely fine with being very cryptic and mysterious and ok with people not understanding him and his intentions and his behavior. He says "I've seen hell", but that's it. He says it very calmly, he doesn't say it all irritated like in Episode 13 or 17. He doesn't seem to care whether or not people believe him, because it's just a fact.

No she was jealous the moment he spoke about the witches and she became "i will kill everyone he cares about and love" type of jealousy to sadness when subaru killed him self edit: one of the things you have to keep in mind is that the witches do not think the same way humans does for example how daphne think by creating those beasts hunger will be no more she didn't care about what would happen to humanity and that she created a calamity same thing with pride loli who sentenced every single criminal no matter how small their crimes were

Anime only here. I have a feeling that the pieces Subaru needs to overcome all the obstacles of this arc are in place. To handle the mansion, he needs Beatrice. I think she will fight along side him against Elsa and the MaBeast, as well as the MaBeast master (Myline?) from season 1. Not sure if he’s going to die again somewhere in this part, but I’m sure Beatrice on his side is the key. For the rabbits, the witches said they’re attracted to mana. We learned in this episode that the Ryuzu clones are made of mana. They’d make a great bait for the rabbits. Not sure exactly how they’re going to kill all the rabbits at once, but I believe the clones are the key to gather them. On a larger note... Echidna was researching Immortality by trying to put her soul into these clones... her soul exists, but is sealed... would it be possible for her to try to resurrect using the clones? Please don’t spoil me, just putting my thoughts out there.
