Was thinking shouldn’t the car be level when filling
@Autofreakgarage3 жыл бұрын
Fill bolt is on the side so it wouldn’t be that big of a difference. The amount that went in from the 5th liter was so minuscule and pretty much drained out when it reached the full level. I’ve heard many others say that needed a 5th bottle as well.

I always thought you wanna drain it on a level surface... since you have the car tilted rear wards it might not get all the old fluid out?
@Autofreakgarage3 жыл бұрын
I drained the fluid that came out back into the liter motul bottles to see how much came out and it was an exact 4.0 liters, Maybe a hair under. So the few oz’s I put in from the 5th liter dripped out when it came over the fill hole.
@thareal.brokebaru3 жыл бұрын
you dont think your car should have been level to make sure all the old fluid is out and the new fluid level would be correct and not a little over filled?
@Autofreakgarage3 жыл бұрын
Having the car level would help drain fully. However, even if the car was not fully drained, it would take less than the 4L since it would still have residual oil left. I’m confident that it drained nearly completely. I left the car as low as possible. Maybe an ounce or two left, but nothing that would effect the fill level.
@SMADSteve3 жыл бұрын
The trans shouldn't have been impacted 2 much from not being level as the fill bolt is on the side. But the rear diff based on the cars level prob resulted in the slight overfill as the bolt location to car angle worked more towards a top plug ,(think if you put a hole on the side of a can but then rotate the can so the hole is on the top you can then still fill the entire can).
@Dave-so7sf3 жыл бұрын
@@Autofreakgarage I definitely think it effects the fill level. It probably will be fine but you should really go pick up another set of jack stands for next time.

Is this the only access point in which to add transmission fluid? The entire transmission (including front/center differential and excluding rear diff) takes just about 4 quarts of 75/90 fluid?
