~The Type R is pretty closely matched to the STI~ The STI has a large advantage in low speed corners while the Type R can contest it in more mid-speed sections. the Type R is more nimble and power comes on faster at 2500rpm vs the Sti's 4000rpm giving it the advantage in exiting corners. On that note, due to the STI's AWD system it would have the advantage when it comes to grip and entering into the corners. Overall the STI would come out on top in most street situations but the Type R has much higher Combat potential if outfitted on a track.

The acceleration times are a flat out lie. Everything from the 0-60, 0-100, 1/4 mile, and the trap speeds are a fucking lie. The Type R does 0-60 in like 5.5 seconds, and does the 1/4 mile at best at 13.9 at 102.5MPH. The newer STi's will do 0-60 in like 4.6-4.8, and run the 1/4 mile around 13.3 at 105MPH. The older 04-05 model STi's were lighter, and ran quicker times. The 04-05 STi's had a bunch of people running the 1/4 mile in 12.8 at 105MPH. However, the majority of decent drivers were doing 13.0-13.1 at 105MPH.

Type r is 3 to 4 thousand more depends on your dealership because they charge markup on them. And sti is sticker priced at every dealership and u can still get incentives on them and negotiate the price but not type r u pay extra for that car. They both are awesome cars.

The Type R is unarguably the better car compared to the STI... Stock. Once we get into modding territory, just because of how long the EJ has been around, the platform has so much more access, knowledge, experience, and tunability than the Type R. A slightly modded STI will roast a slightly modded Type R, and this difference increases as you go further down the rabbit hole. For those interested, look up "FK8 CIVIC Type R vs. 4 million yen tuning car battle." Legendary Drift King Tsuchiya Keiichi (you might know him for his influence in Initial D, or his cameo in Tokyo Drift) drives the Type R and easily overpowers the STI stock. However, with both slightly modded and tuned cars, the STI completely obliterates the Type R with its AWD and fast acceleration out of corners as the modding allows it to overpower the Type R in terms of power, and the tuning gets rid of the factory understeer the STI is normally plagued with making the STI a much better handling car. This video said the the Type R would have better handling because it was a a tiny bit lower, but it forgets to mention that the Subaru Boxer engine sits at ankle level, giving the car a much lower center of mass than the Type R's stood up inline-4. The moment you get rid of the STI's understeer with suspension tuning, the Type R can't even come to match.

Your numbers are way off on the STI its 4.8 0 to 60 not 5.3 and real world its closer to 4.6 The top speed is 176 not 159 Its 1/4 is around 13.2 to 13.0 real world numbers
