@@WestwoodTableSoccer Hi mate. I have a few duplicate HW teams. They are in good condition but have nos on the backs. Marker pen i think so will need to paint over them. Is it possible to paint over the nos etc or would i be better off just selling. Im thinking repaint as the bases are good. Lpool away,plymouth,luton some good coloured bases etc.. Cheers John.

I’m a bit late to this but what happens to the bases and inners if you apply Mr Muscle to them - I have some players where I cannot extract the player

Bases the cleaner will strip the lacquer and they won't play well at all so it's not recommended, discs should be ok just don't leave them too long else the plastic will 'melt' that's same for figures too. Hope this helps. Calum @ Westwood Table Soccer

To remove the figures from the bases, is it just a case of soaking in hot water?, for how long?. Doesn’t pulling them out with pliers risk damaging the figure? And finally, how do you remove those numbers off the bases?. This wasn’t explained or have I missed an earlier video?, anyone?, tnx

Painted numbers needs metholated spirit. To remove figures (heavyweight) use hot water yes but not boiling. In terms of time depends how old they are. Can be as little as 1 minute. Newer HW (late 70s early 80s) won't work as the glue used was better.

I can’t say I will be any good, but I’d like to give restoration a go, I guess it all come with practice though. Love your work and talent, for someone so young to be into Subbuteo is so cool. I’m an old man now (55), had all the good subby stuff when I was younger. Tnx again mate!

Why do you put them in hot water if they are glued?

Depends, it works really well on late 60s early to mid 70s heavyweight. Late 70s early 80s HW glue changed and it's much harder, can still work but success rate is much lower.
