What if you didn’t use the Allen key for the reverse cable lock and you accidentally shift the rod that shifter bolts into does that mess up positioning of the shifter I have it finished but looks a tad off or maybe it’s how it’s supposed to look any help please

If you place your vehicle in reverse, you can skip inserting Allen key through the bottom of your vehicle. Leave the car in reverse when installing the new shifter, and the reverse lock out cable will have more than enough length to re install.

Hey Kevin what is all that black stuff on the undercarriage? I'm sure it's some kind of spray to reduce road noise but what brand did you use?

The car actually had that applied when we purchased it. It's probably just an undercoating spray to help against rust and such.

Yes, you will be able to adjust height and it will still shorten throws over the factory STS.

You shouldn't have to. You are only removing the shift linkage, not the transmission.

i just installed the cobb short throw shifter on my 2017 sti too, somehow there is rattle on 5th and 6th gear. someone please help.

Huynh Huu Nhieu it's probably your reverse cable hitting the driveshaft or just the added noise from the bushings if you installed those too. you can hear a lot of the transmission noise that comes up the the chassis and that very annoying to me. I'm old though so I like cars quiet lol

More detail on what goes where and when. You guys constantly skip parts of the install and explain very brief. Same goes for the LED fog bezel video. Terrible with wiring instructions for people doing it for the first time.
