Nice job. I don’t know if anyone recommended it but try using a silicone mat instead of a stone. The stone holds heat and gets too hot.

I was noticing that when you were putting your cups in shrink wrap you seams on your cups were not taple ALL THE WAY DOWN. Try that. you will get a virtually invisible seam.

Hey Brotha, The print looks good. Where did you buy those sleeves? I think you use a Heat Press it would come out even better because you wouldn't have the melted plastic on the bottom.

No you have to use anything after it has been sublimated

Unfortunately, I found out that most ovens here like that are 220v, meaning I have to have an electrician. The others are gas ovens, which would be harder to hookup. All you need to do for the shrink wrap not to stick to the bottom just cover it with wax paper and heat tape. That’s what I do, best luck and for the oven just get some silicone mats.....

Great video!! Love your enthusiasm and complete explanations. Just curious, I've never done this kind of Dye-Sub transfer. I've used dedicated Dye-Sub printers (ID cards and whatnot). Do the tumblers need any kind of clear coating after they are sublimated to protect the finish? If so, Poly, Epoxy, or something else? Thanks again, I'm subscribed now.

I'd consider putting the mugs on a silicone mat inside the oven. This would probably work better than a pizza stone. Also, the pizza stone won't be ruined 😀

Greetings. I’ve recently purchased the Heat Shrinks from your site. Purchased the clear and white. I’ve so far used 2 white ones on 20oz tumblers. Everything sublimated fine but after a minute in the 400*F Convection Oven, I noticed that the heat shrink had a bubble that came up. The shrink wrap was taught on the timber when I placed it in the oven. Both tumblers done this. I did one timber one day and the second the next day. Both of them sublimated perfectly. Just curious.

Yes, you need heat tape anytime you are dealing with heat...Regular tape will melt...Everything came out nice.

No they do not need to be coated, sublimation is pretty durable it will not come off or scratch easily

Look on craigslist or the marketplace, I got mine at a store called Restore by habitat for humanity, you can also find them at goodwill or trif stores I payed $20.00 for mine.

You shouldn’t use your kitchen oven to subliminate in if you’re going to cook in it again. Once used for mugs and such the oven will be contaminated with sublimation inks which turn into a gas when heat is applied.
