Sublimation on oracle 651 vs reg sign vinyl

Use Sublidecal vinyl! Print your sublimated transfer paper, heat press it on the vinyl, laminate it and then contour cut it. The stickers last outside 3-5 years without fading or anything. The laminate blocks the UV rays from fading, cracking etc.

I'm new to sublimation, do you have a link to what you buy? Can it be any brand? And what about making say a decal that is length of window? I have a cousin wanting something for his back truck window & it seems sublimation might would be easier than vinyl. Thanks😊

Not to sound silly here but when you mention the shiny and Matt side of the laminate, are you saying the Matt side touches the vinyl and the shiny side facing you?

The vinyl doesn't matter when you are using laminate. You can do this on 651 without laminate and save time and money.

Pixie Hollow, I am 78 years old, so a little slow on some things. I have been doing crafts since 1985 and sublimation for the past 20 years. I am new to vinyl, are you saying I can just sublimate directly to white 651????, and skip the laminate step.

@@waynewilson8775 yes laminate not nesccary for 651 but I hear it keeps it glossy and vibrant with out it colors go dull

It isn't as bright on the outside of the vinyl but will show bright on the sticky side so great for inside of glass

This is great info. I've seen several people subbing straight to 651, but I never could get it to work and have decent colors. I never thought of using laminate on top of it, but have used laminate on wood and other hard items. My only question would be if you could put another layer of laminate on top of the sublimation to make it UV resistant. I'll have to try that out and see, because this would be great for outdoor decals if it works.

So you are sublimating onto lamination sheets and sticking them to vinyl. It sees that the hesive is what is important in this process. Interesting.

There's no silly questions. They have aluminum business cards or plastic business cards. You can only sub on certain items. I've never seen it on cardstock or paper. But great question

Oracle 651 is made for outside car stickers, so 8ts very durable
