Was really difficult to see the difference from the video visual, and actually looked like the copy sample looked better than the A-Sub from my view. That being said, the bleed-through is very obvious. I won't be using ordinary copy paper for sublimation. Thanks for the video.
@AngieHolden2 жыл бұрын
It was lighter in person but video fools you! The bleed through was easy to show though!
@scottyboy62692 жыл бұрын
Real Laser printer paper is much better, but i may be off as %90 of the craft channels call parchment paper "butcher paper" which to me is nuts as butcher paper has a wax coating.

Thank you for making short and sweet videos. Some creators would have made this same content 45 mins long. You rock! On a sublimation note. I ran glitter vinyl through my printer and it turned out FANTASTIC! Taped it to card stock and did a print to cut.

Interesting!! That sounds like an experiment I can get behind!
@melissad88242 жыл бұрын
We tried using ASub paper for over a year and our Epson printer made "pizza wheel" tracks on it regardless of what custom print settings we tried (and we tried EVERYTHING everyone recommends). But it never made the ink tracks on copy paper. The tracks issue became so bad we eventually had to stop doing in-house sublimation work and now have a very expensive printer and heat press we no longer use. We will try using the copy paper instead since I didn't know you could actually do this for sublimation. Thank you so much for doing this experiment!

Thanks so much for this sublimation paper vs. copier paper comparison, I agree that if you’re going to print out all that ink, you want it to absorb into the material you’re sublimating and not the trash. I appreciate you, be blessed & I pray you’re having a healthy, happy new year!!!

Thanks. Funny from the angle the copy and Hippoo looked similar but I do know lighting is a factor. I’ve been using Asub. Will probably stick there but thanks to you I know I could use copy paper in a pinch for demos. Thank you for always helping us.

I worked in a copy center it seems like ultra white 32 lb paper would be better considering it doesn't bleed even when printing with double the normal in for super dark black. And a sheet of normal copy paper on the back infront of the heat to absorb extra ink seems better that using heat paper. Great video though

I would use sublimation paper for this project.

This is another good comparison. I think for me it would depend on what I was putting it on. I do shirts for my little granddaughter for different holidays to wear to school. They are pretty much one time use or she wears them out to play. By the next year she has outgrown it. Other than that I would use the sublimation paper. Thanks Angie.

Considering how cheap A-Sub paper is (my go-to) I don't really see the need to go cheaper and let my results take a hit. I've been really happy with it. In a pinch, though, the idea of using copy paper is fascinating. Makes me wonder if you used a higher-end paper if that would make a difference. I have some cheapo copy paper at home that's really thin, and some "good" paper I use for work-related documents and things that need that little extra something, and that might mitigate some of the bleeding, although if I'm using that stuff I probably could just save money and time and use the A-Sub paper anyway!
@threadlovert13932 жыл бұрын
A-Sub is the paper I use. I'd read about the bleed-through with regular copy paper, and so I've avoided using that.

Hi Miss Angie! I did not even know till today that you "could" use copy paper and not sublimation paper for the transfer LOL. That being said I tried it out, Only my dummy self printed it out on my inkjet printer *DUH* and thought "well, this doesn't transfer at all" HAHA! Instead of putting the copy paper in my sublimation printer with the sub ink...ah well that will be tomorrow's try out. Okay my thought is, what about using the copy paper as it is less "bright" as background papers? I cut up my extra sub (printed) papers for that after I have used them one time...because they are faded and look super cool as backgrounds...Just a thought!

I ran several print head cleanings and the result was still the same. However, when I printed out on copy paper, there were no errors at all. Do you think that the streaks & errors on the sublimation paper be due to type of paper or the 120 GSM I've been using?
